EDC - What's In Your Pockets?

Btw, a gun thread was started here awhile ago. I was disappointed there are only two posts in there

I love the way 1911s handle.

Mad,
My Mrs keeps a .38 for concealed carry, which is a natural transition to .357, from there a 9mm is easy. In other words start small, but on a firearm that can still be effective. She also likes the feel of a revolver better, but is capable of controlling her dad's .40 if she wants. She doesn't push her limits much though, and is typically happy with what she carries

I'm surprised more people don't use pepper guns.

Glock 19 loaded with 15+1 Federal HST 9mm 147gr
15rd magazine loaded with same and with Magpul floorplate
Car key with ResQMe window breaker/seatbelt cutter and Prometheus flashlight (mostly there so I can tuck it into my waistband and hang my keys from my gym clothes)
Greatlakesvapor ecig and ecig liquid
Spyderco Dragonfly VG10
Worthless work Blackberry that I hate
Lighthound AAA flashlight (an awesome buy for $20, has over 200 lumens on a single 10440 battery)
Victorinox Tinker with "Plus" scales that holds a pen (can't find them anymore)
Fisher Space Pen
Nylon sheath to hold the AAA light, pen and Swiss Army knife, along with duct tape wrapped around an old gift card, as well as a couple pieces of scrap paper
IH Wallet
Keyring that's usually on a belt loop, also has a Victorinox Classic, Photon light and USB drive
Not pictured is my iPhone in a Magpul case because it's taking the photoThe redundancy is because I don't usually have all this shit on me at one time. In the office, my keyring is usually hanging from my door. When I'm running out to get some take out, all I usually have is my wallet, my two sets of keys and my iPhone. I only carry my firearm out when I legally can, or when I'm home

This is actually the second one. The first one had issues, but they took it back without hesitating. This one works like a champ. It's just "ok" with alkaline batteries, but I already had the rechargeable lithium batteries, and they double the output

nice Dougie.
Macguyver would be proud.

Nice Doug. I am always a little envious and confused about how and when the Americans are allowed to carry a handgun, or conceal should I say?
Re edc torches, my sunwayman r01a aaa is excellent for a 10lm. A little bigger my zebralight sc600mkIi 18650 size is simply awesome. I carry that as often as the situation will allow.

I have an HDS EDC Tactical in 200 lumens. Built like a tank and I like the operation of it, 3 different brightnesses and a strobe by default; I've felt no need to change that but you can. I wish it was $20

I could try to explain it, but you would be just as confused…long story short, depends on where you live if you are current/former law enforcement, you're good in any state except buildings that prohibit it (some schools, courthouses). Adding to the confusion, if your state does not allow concealed carry, you can get a concealed carry permit from another state that will allow you to concelal when you are visiting
Ironically, the states that allow conceal carry have a lower rate of violent crime than the state I reside in which does not allow conceal carry for your average citizen, though that may change with the convoluted politics of Maryland
My everyday flashlight will probably change to an Elzetta Alpha this summer when it comes out

You've got an Elzetta for your shottie IIRC right Doug? I think that was the one they dropped out of a fucking heli and it still worked.
While I'm a firm believer in EDC laws, I'm not convinced they reduce violence. I simply don't give criminals enough credit for forethought to figure "he might have a gun" into their activities.

I now use the Elzetta as my "walking the dog light". It makes the front of my shotgun too heavy. I use a dedicated weapon light on the front of my shotgun now (Inforce WML)
I'm not quite following your line of thinking. If someone is chasing my wife down the street and she pulls her gun on him, there is no violent crime perpetrated…and whether or not he's dead or in in jail, it saves society from the next victim since violent offenders tend to do it more than once

My one regret about the HDS is that it has kind of a flood pattern. It's great for area lighting, which in the end may be more practical for me, but a tighter beam with more throw was kind of what I was expecting.
