Burgundy for packers, definitely
-
Brown rough out!! Lol
-
Thx for the comments guys. In the end, i decided to go with black tie. As much as I love the burgundy, I figure ill get more wear outta black. Of all my boots, my #8 shells see the least amount of use. And as nice as the brown is, I concluded that I have enough brown lace ups already… My only other black lace ups are my lace to toe Smokejumpers in cxl. Figure these will be my less work boot-ish black boot. Damn I need to stop this addiction!!!
I'm just gonna say it though, someone needs to order some engineers in that brown; they will look killer

This is my first Wesco order - i'd appreciate any advice/comment… I'm trying to build/order this boot:
Here is my attempt at placing the order (I have it saved for later):
CUSTOM PACKER
STYLE BR906P705 (Size: 12 1/2D)
+Single-Tone:Roughout Brown
+6" Height
+Regular Toe
+#705 VibramSole
+Standard Heel Height
+Brass Eyelets
+Lightweight Brown Upper Stitching
+White Outsole Stitching
+Tan Nylon Laces
SPECIAL REQUESTS: 7 inch height, Packer upper with MP toe (taller heel #1339 shoe last)I know it is a different sole - I like the 705 - but I want everything else the same. Chris at Wesco said it was 7" height and he mentioned the #1339 last. I don't want to mess this up. Also unsure about sizing - anyone out there have a comparison to White's or Viberg's?
-
Looks good to me, but I'm not an expert on Wesco.
I wear a size 10D across the board in the Viberg 2030 last, the White's swing last and whatever last Wesco uses in the Jobmaster, by the way.
-
Bluegrass, I'd order true to size on these if I were you. I'm a 10D on Whites standard SJ last, 9.5D on the #55 last. I currently have a pair of sz 9.5D MP engineers but ended up having the toe stretched, so the order I just placed was 10D. Note that this last has a rather narrow toe box. It's as cool as they come though IMO.
Your boots are gonna look sick!
-
B, thanks man. Do you know if is this a soft toe? if you just add MP toe like I did, what will you get? And I wonder what he means by "taller heel 1339 last" - is that just the technical term for the MP last?
Damn, I better call them vs. just placing an online order - I'll be a nervous wreck.
And I assume their standard brown leather is pretty stout stuff - do you now if it is thicker than the Domain?
-
No sweat, my man. That's definitely got the celastic. The toe box is pretty much flat on this last without it. as for the leathers; looks to me like the domain but i could very well be weong abput that. The standard oil is approx 7oz and the domain is approx 5oz. Ask Chris for some leather swatches
Oh yeah, and the #1339 last is the Narrow last, which is a D width version of the MP last that has been specially built for a higher heel.
-
Thanks, very helpful. I'm going to call Chris to make sure I order the right thing. Then the "the wait" begins. Did you pull the trigger on yours??
I did, bro:)

@Superfuzz, Ah hah great and very relevant question, because the new stuff has a grey pull up quality to it, and does not have the same aniline finish. I wanted a more dress leather. I kinda feel like I'm taking a gamble with the new black tie, but figure it must be good, seeing as they've replaced the existing stuff. Just wish they offered a brown base/black aniline finished leather for patina purposes…
-
@bluegrass, yessir, just MSG Kyle
-
They line the vamp as default, quarters no. The new domain absolutely does not need a liner in uppers not sure about the old stuff though
As for the 1339 last; my understanding is the 5yr lisencing agreement is up
