IHSH-20 Heavy Western Flannel
-
Boastful and mean pic, or a cry for help? At any rate, there's four 20s in it so I'll put it here.
-
20s are cool, but it's a shame theyve reached such a level of hype. The problem with this is that it becomes multiple peoples holy grails (meaning the final price will be super high) which will eventually lead to disillusion because upon attaining the shirt they'll realize that it in no way satiates the desire for a "perfect" wardrobe
-
If it's too expensive, don't buy it. Problem solved.
-
For sure. In my eyes the ultra heavys are all equal in quality and weight. Wish I jumped on the 87, but that's why there's a market!
-
Yeah, but value is subjective. Lots of people would say that the original retail was ridiculously expensive. If someone is willing to pay the price being asked, then it's "fair".
I don't get the hype about the 20, but then I don't like flannel, so who am I to judge?
-
I also have nearly zero need to wear shirts that heavy, so it's even less of an issue for me.
In proof of my lack of need for heavy flannels, today's high is 70°F (21°C). Winter is over in Texas.

In my eyes the ultra heavies are all equal in quality and weight.
then i do not think you've worn very many heavies. . . or i'm hyper-sensitive to the small differences in the brushes & weights used (pure hyperbole ;)).
as far as the "hype" you just have some folks that are really into some IH items & not afraid to wave their flag. . . i think that can be viewed a few ways. . . not sure if i would define that as hyperbole, but you know.

I definitely don't have experience with too many… My very first IH shirt (that I returned because I'm a gd idiot) was the 52 and that felt super gnarly to me. I also had the dark rider (again, got rid of because idiot) and that was very heavy as well.
I got the 20 and I was a big underwhelmed....I liked the grey check but the fabric just wasn't anything that I haven't felt before, imo at least
-
^amazing you hit the trifecta. You managed to get and move 3 amazing flannels. Next time you grab a heavy weight. Close your eyes, take a deep breath, count to 10 and not made another silly decision!!!
-
Some people don't like heavy. To each their own…I love the weight and heft of the 20s. I like the slightly longer, slimmer cut, compared to the ones I've gotten after it. I love them all but the 20s are so simple and heavy that I always opt to wear them and fit like they're made for me. It's true love.
-
You don't gotta tell me d666….I seriously kick myself for selling the 52 and dark rider. I got rid of them because I thought they were too short, and now I can never find shirts that are short enough. Doesn't help that those were maybe my favorite patterns IH ever did and that the fabric was spectacular
