Mister Freedom

The fabric does look beautiful (even though I despise purple). Thank you for the detail shot, summ3r.
I also like the slightly-relaxed fit, and think it works well with this shirt. It might be just a touch too long, but as gmb mentioned earlier in this thread, MF shirts tend to look more appropriate tucked in, anyway.
If it shrinks in length – even just a tiny bit -- in the next wash, I would be very happy with that fit. Congrats on a great pickup.
I've resisted the urge to visit the shop because, quite frankly, IH is the rare brand that works for me, and my wallet cannot afford another major clothing vice. Also, my IH wish list remains long (regardless of how much I pick up; H is always two steps ahead).
The other color of this madras might be the item that draws me in, though.

I'll post pics tomorrow, but a warm machine wash and tumble and it shortened up quite a bit. I'm a happy camper. I think the roomier feel comes from the pleated shoulders and generous sleeves. The shoulders are just where I like it.
I know SE only has purple, but there is another color way on the MF site. I personally dig the purple, but I get that it's not everyone's favorite.

Sean, I think you should definitely check out the shop. As you probably know it's super close to Self Edge, and honestly if Iron Heart is your brand I doubt that Mister Freedom will be the only other one that strikes your fancy. They are ridiculously different, and MF is definitely cut less generously than Iron Heart so you might even be sized out.
The store is so cool though… even if you aren't interested in the clothes it's worth the visit. About 80% of the store is vintage!

Post wash pics. It now feels relaxed rather than big. I didn't measure, but the sleeves & length must have shrunk 1/2".
Shoulder pleats that give it a roomy feel while keeping the shoulder spot on.

Perfect, summ3r. That is a damn nice looking/fitting shirt. FYI, my loathing of the color purple is due to an obsessive allegiance to the alma mater and my pure hatred of the in-state rivals. I've been conditioned since birth.
gmb, you're probably right. I actually have to limit my visits to SELA, or else I would be homeless.
You're also right about MF's sizing. There are only a handful of shirts that would work, based on measurements. This is the main reason why I stick with IH instead of experimenting with the other brands. I haven't had much success when I strayed, in the past.
A MF visit will happen someday, gmb. We are so lucky (and cursed) to have all these amazing stores in our backyard, aren't we?

Thanks Sean. I would struggle living so close to SE. It's hard enough to show restraint when shopping online and I can't even imagine being able to stroll in on a random Tuesday evening.

I empathize with that emotion. I feel much the same about baby blue. I don't think I've voluntarily worn anything in that color since I convinced Mom to let me choose my own clothes.

^^If that's a visceral hatred for all things Tarheel, I am guilty of this as well.
No big loss, it's not like I'd be wearing baby blue anyway. I do think I recall it figuring into a certain heavy flannel's colorway though…

I would be so tempted to leisure suit it out if I had the pique in top and bottom
-
Daaaaamn… That works way better than it did in my head!

Buckleback chinos came in today. Trying them on with the green skivvy, Ranch Hand, Road Champs.

Looks great. The ghost images are pretty cool too.

Thanks–I went to the site to get pique and wound up with these. I really like them, great selfedge fabric, light and with a nice sheen.
