Viberg

^This is more or less what I'm telling myself! Close to pulling the trigger.
-
Finally crumbled and bought the Boondockers. Took the same size as my Alden trubalance last and Trickers 4444 last. Fingers crossed it works out.

I finally purchased my first pair of (VIBERG BOOTS):
Specs:
1950 Service Boot
Horween, Chromexcel leather
Icy Mocha
Smooth and Rough-Out Leathers.
Hand rubbed finish
Vibram 705 & Cats Paw
Raw edges
The leather is produced using a secret bark retannage recipe and then genuine hot stuffed with their own blend of natural oils, greases and waxes.
Extremely Limited Numbers.Size: 10.0 (11.0 US)
I had never owned a pair of Viberg boots before so the information in this section (Viberg Boots) of the Iron Heart forum was extremely helpful in regards to fit/sizing/specs. (…imo they certainly, at least this pair, live up to the "Hype").
I enjoy the wealth of information (and photos) that (IRON HEART) forum members provide.
(...I log in a few times per week, but I need to start contributing more myself.)Now I've just got to wait for the foot of snow on the ground in Minnesota to melt before I can wear them.
Question:
Can anyone advise me on the best way to prevent "indigo transfer" to the "rough-out" leather?
(…Leather preservatives, stain preventers, etc?). -
^What a gif.
MJN221 - you could at least refrain from wearing new and raw denim with your boots and stick to your worn-in and washed pairs.
-
my 2 cents worth.. denim transfer on the smooth cxl part will only make the leather darker, which I'm assuming you're not too worried about? as for the rough out part you can always, rub them with suede bar regularly (i use RW suede bar)to prevent a permanent transfer ?
I thought they don't have any available stock on their site. Any way, enjoy that beautiful boots.

Great boot. Hope they work for you

^^Bluegrass ….I picked them up from an eBay member (New/Unworn) two weeks ago.
They had purchased them directly from: www.meadowweb.com out of Sweden.
Luckily, upon arrival the true color was exactly as shown in the photos
The build that I have is "Sold-Out."
However, they also currently have another Viberg build in the same leather combination, but in a different build/look as follows:

hmm. i have an Alden Indy in the TB and its much more comfortable for me because of the wider last – i found the Boondocker a little slimmer. anyway, i hope they work out for you.
-
Mijama - Two questions: What width are your Indy boots and what last are your Boondockers on? My Vibergs arrived today and width-wise the 2045 last compares well to the Trubalance in D width. Consensus seems to be that the 2030 last also corresponds with the same size in Trubalance D but we all have different feet.

Chris, not Viberg specific but I have taken American work boots (Whites) to allegedly the best cobbler in London, who screwed them up, sent pictures to the Shoe Healer, who didn't seem confident, and had some done locally, which was ok at best.
The lesson I have learned is that if you love your boots they need to go to a specialist. I recommend spending the extra and either returning them to the manufacturer, or use use Brian The Bootmaker.

cross post from the care thread
Can anyone recommend me a decent cobbler in London? The Cat's Paw heel on my IH/Viberg service boot seems to be wearing obscenely quickly on the outside back portion, so I need to get it replaced with something a little more robust.
Any pointers/tips gratefully received.A bit more info given Mega's post above - ideally I'd just like the aforementioned outside back portion replaced, as there's loads of wear left in the rest of the heel (and the whole sole generally - they only arrived in Jan). Basically enough of a repair to stop the permanent part of the heel starting to wear too.
