IH-666-XHS - 25oz Selvedge Denim Slim Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo
-
Loving my 1st pair of 666 XHSs. I got W34 and they stretched so (after getting some 634 XHSs in W32 which I also love), I hankered for smaller 666 XHSs and went on down to Peggs and Son in Brighton (as IH is out of W32 and W33s) and picked up a couple of pairs of 666 XHSs in W32. Now the battle has begun, though my bruised fingers are recovering!
The next pics show the W34 666s after 1 months wear, the 634 XHSs after 2 and 3 day's wear each and a pair of 666s still with tags on.
I just love the reinforcements on the 666 XHSs: belt loops attached to the waistband, selvedge fly reinforced strips, extra gauge constructional stitching, reinforced front pockets and lined rear pockets. I need them all! Here I am at war with my W32 666 XHSs on Day 2!

jeansman, i salute your knowing what you like & jumping in. . . . but you are crazy, hahahahaha

Jesus…4 new pairs of 25oz's, you my friend have taken on quite a challenge.

5 counting the ones I was wearing!
I'm always on a quest for the perfect pair of jeans, and now I've discovered 25 oz, may be I've found them (although I've already suggested a few modifications to Giles!)?
It usually takes a number of years for my jeans to fade, because I have a very large selection and so I don't get to wear each pair for long enough. My most faded pair at present are a pair of Valencia Street 1955 LVCs made in 1996. Luckily I can now wear jeans every day for work. Unless the 666 XHSs loosen up enough to avoid comment, I guess it'll be the 634 XHSs at work which I can alternate to air and not to wash. When I'm not at work, it'll be the tight 666 25oz. When they're tight I am compelled to go on wearing them to loosen them up!

Damn, breaking in 5 pairs of 25oz's, your legs are gonna give up on you….What else do you/have you had in your rotation on your quest for the perfect pair of jeans?

Hundreds of pairs of LVC, many worn to some degree, many still raw. I've got some 1937 Valencia Street 201XXs in 32 x 38 which I've been breaking in over the past couple of years with nice creases forming in the groin. I daren't wash them because it'll be such a battle getting them on again (similar story to my W32 666 XHSs I expect though the 1937s are supposed th shrink!). I conquered some raw 1955 Valencia Street 501s in 31 x 38 and managed to wash them OK - now I just need to wear them enough to fade them more. Both have more generous thighs than the 666s. I have to protect my hips with folded handkerchiefs!

I know its not a brilliant pic, but I would be interested to know what you guys think of the fit of my unsoaked unwashed uncuffed W32 x 37 666 XHSs on Day 2? Will I win the battle or will they be going up for sale along with a second pair of W32s BNWT, with me waiting for Giles to re-stock W33 666 XHSs?
-
You'll win the battle….
…and you'll lose a sale (or 2). That's a relief, except that Paula tells me the 1955 UHRs are in today

Apologies for the obnoxious question - I couldn't figure out how to search within the thread - can anyone compare the sizing on these (particularly the waist) to the sizing on Samurai 710s (19 oz, lot 13 if it makes a difference). I was hoping to gauge people's experiences in addition to comparing the measurements on the web site.
I'm also open to comparisons to the raws in any of the following. I'm well aware that I have too many pairs.
SExSC06
SExDBxSxS12
APC NS/PNS
Nudie Regular Alf
Blue Owl x Triple Works tapered fit
Dior 19cm MiJ
N&F Weird Guy
W+H straight fit
Sugar Cane 1966 one-washMy take is that APCs and Nudies are vanity-sized by two; Dior 19cm, N&F WG, and W+H are all vanity sized by one (although the waist is a little loose in all cases); and the rest are basically TTS (although the waist is loose on the SExDBs).
Thanks in advance.

Keep wearing them. That is probably the best fit I've seen thus far…
Reaction so far:
Epoc: first few days; Person: Partner; Comment: They look ridiculous (or words to that effect!
Epoc: 13 days (about 7 full days of wear); Person: Partner; Comment: They make you look fantastic; they look better than Levi's (LVC)!
Epoc: 11 to 13 days (about 5 - 7 days of wear); Person: Co-workers in the office; Comment: No comments made (good sign). All in all, I think I'm winning the war…..

[/quote]I've never worn any of your comparison jeans. I started to break in a pair of 666 XHSs in W32 2 weeks ago tomorrow. They were very tight indeed at first (the thigh and hip in particular) but have stretched a bit. After 1 week I sprayed them with a bit of water while wearing them and wore them until they dried, but haven't soaked them. My Size W34 stretched a bit too much for my liking after 2 weeks solid wear. After 2 weeks I thoroughly wetted them (but did not soak) them. Their fit is OK but rather loose round the waist and the fly is a bit too high. The thighs are quite a close fit. I also have 634 XHSs in W32 and they are a nice good tight fit but not tight in the thigh or hip. My size W31 1955UHRs, not yet much worn, have more room in the thigh and hip.
I don't know if that helps at all?

Hey guys, I should be receiving my pair sometime in the middle of this week! I just had a quick question, I know this jean is sanforized, but was wondering i should give it a soak to get any shrinkage out from the waist and inseam..?
