Good job man. That looks way better than brian the bootmakers work imo

Takeshi-san is a living legend.

And here I thought I was the only well dressed hipster living at Cedar Trails…..;-)
Nice look, love that shirt!
Whoah no shit? Small world! I think there's someone else from MN on here too
I know right, crazy small world. I live over in the 46XX bldg.
If you see a guy wearing Red Wing Iron Rangers, LVC 501's and a V neck white T, that's me, I wear that get up to work every day.
Hey can I borrow that blue shirt? Kidding, I'm a kidder.
-
Congrats Snowy. Those turned out amazing. Not that there was ever doubt.
-
that's a boot you can be proud of snow man.
gmb i disagree with you, but what's new.
-
Idk, maybe it's because there's no fish-shaped stitching in the middle but to me the stitching just looks straighter than when compared to this
-
Look great snowman!! I prefer the RCs with the half sole.
Ben- I have seen the vintage half sole stitch done by a number of well known people in the business and this is not uncommon… Since I don't know the first thing about resolving I can't say that it's a difficult thing to do but when guys that are known sticklers for detail like zip Stevenson have similar results I would GUESS that something about the process is a bit difficult in getting exactly perfect. That said my lofgrens have the figure 8 stitch and it is bang on, so makes me wonder if the issue in alignment is related to it being done post production... I could also very well be wrong it just a simple observation.

@Bluegrass I'll tell you tomorrow. Am going for a 1.5mile walk in them which will be a good/real test.
I'm in love with them all over again, so they better fit!!!!
-
@Bluegrass the fit is 100% the same as was before. The feel 90% the same (now back to 100% the same). First 100 or so steps the extra height/depth in the boot threw my gait, but within a few minutes was back to normal. Could not be happier with the result.

Same here on the Lofgren. Pretty sure Brian is stitching by hand, so I don't regard those irregularities as a defect per se. I think he's taking an awl and digging out those stitches, where the Lofgrens are almost certainly machine-stitched.

ah gmb is just being gmb. i love when dudes actually say what they think instead of the forum mentality. keeps things fun. dude gave his reasons & i think part of the reason snowy boots look so damn good is really & truly a testament to snowy & his photography. i mean the guy takes pictures of the most random sh!t & makes it look like art (no brown nosing hahahaha) brian the bootguy on the other hand does great work, but i swear the photos do not do justice to his work (speaking from experience as i have a pair of boots he worked over for me).
let's be clear, i'm just saying open dialogue should be one of the major contributing factors on the forum. let's keep the doors of communication open.
some body get me a campus cardigan & liberty belt, stat

That's great - mine fit snug/perfect now - I just worried a major resole might change the fit. That is such a beautiful resole job - but it might be hard for someone in the U.S. to deal with them, however. Seems like the shipping and communication challenges could be an issue.
There is no issues with communication from the US. E-mail Info@mydenimlife.com and you'll be able to speak about what you want in normal/full english with a rate and address to ship to, no problems at all. I just happened to be going to Japan and delivered in person. The guys behind the e-mail address were very helpful in discussing options/sending pictures etc.

This may not be as pretty and I am not going to get into an argument about which is better, but the stitching above holds the sole and mis sole assembly together in 2 paces. For durability I would go for this…...
