hello world!
Having read these posts for a long time it's time I venture in to share my experience.
I have a pair of IH-666S 32w that I purchased on 4/16/13 here in san francisco. After one cold soak 3 months in, and one warm soak just before the first crotch repair at self edge, I think there is still more breaking in to do.
My current infatuation with these pants is still very strong, and I have taken them with me to India a few times (the humidity really helped the fades) china and all over the US, it still seems my fades don't have as much contrast as some of the (beautiful) pics I see on this forum. What are your secrets?? I would love more contrast…but I know I will have to work for it...
I also feel they are a bit long for me (i'm only 5'8") but I simply can't bear to be without them to have them hemmed, and like some other posts, I am afraid I will regret hemming them.
From a fit perspective, they are loose in the waist (I wear a belt most of the time) and tight in the thighs. In SF it's also less tight around the cuff area that most of the other "kids" but given it's a more adult fit and I'm an adult, I guess it will stay in style for longer...
Anyway - re-reading the threads here makes me want to sleep in mine (again) ...lol

Hello 666fanSF!
Would be nice to see some pictures of your pair.
I work as a verification engineer and spend most of my workday in a chair sitting in front of a computer. I commute to work by car.
I live in the souther part of Sweden. The climate is quite mild no extreme temperature in any season.I do however have two kids who brings me down on my knees a lot. For instance when helping them putting on clothes and putting on lotion or sun block on and so on.
My fades are perhaps not spectacular but I am very pleased with my pair and I am really looking forward seeing them evolve.

Thanks very much - yes I also have a "desk job" but try to wear these as much as possible and i love them. As you can see there are some nice fades happening at the top but looking through this forum I feel that I'm way behind. Perhaps wearing them in the ocean, or rolling around in dirt or something would help, if i wash them in the machine would that improve the contrast of the fades? Would love to know your thoughts!

My advice is just live your life! Wear the jeans as much as possible! Fades will come in time!

I would not sea wash them. I would be afraid of how the saltwater would affect the denim and all the metal and patch.
I have only soaked my pair so far (4 times) . No wash and no real attempt on cleaning them.
I do however starting to get cracks between the honeycombs. I suspect I could have avoided that by washing them in a front loaded machine. Thinking that the agitation they get in a machine might be good in some ways. I do not know. This is my first pair of "heavy weight" jeans.
I am still experimenting.
My plan was to keep on soaking them every once in a while and then give them a 60 degree wash when they are one year.Just keep on wearing them and the fades will come in time. It is not a race.
I think your pair looks great.
Some fit pics would be wonderful./N
