I was at Best of Britannia today, and there were a couple of bikes by Old Empire Motorcycles. on display. Nice machines!
There were also some lids by Hedon, a brand that I haven't heard of before. They're beautifully finished, maybe not quite to the standard of Ruby, but they're half the price, and fit me better. (I'd say they're a similar internal shape to a Davida.)
My favourite was the FRNKNSTN, which is at the top, left of the photo.
They're certified to ECE 22.05, which means that they're legal in most places, except backward countries like Australia. You can read more in the BSMC Gear Guide #19, and the reviewer seems smitten.
Hedon do a whole range of shell sizes, which keeps the overall size down for that vintage vibe. Their sizing is a bit different to other manufacturers, I've got a 60 cm head, and am an XL, rather than an L like I would be in an Arai or Shoei.
A full face model is in the works.
@injunjack - what did that Shovelhead ever do to you to deserve that?

My old man just bought a '67 Triumph Bonneville T120R, I haven't had a chance to ride it yet but it's a pretty cool bike and looking forward to trying out a classic. I found out after he bought it that Steve McQueen had that same bike, which I think it pretty awesome.
Those bikes look sweet Giles, keep us updated!

My new mirrors finally came in. I dig the design. I can also adjust them so I don't just see my elbows. They also don't shake at speed.
Also put the Spot trace unit just behind the windscreen. It's pretty inconspicuous, but I'd like some tint or something on the bottom half so it's not visible at all. Damn thieves.
Before
After
Spot trace. Really shows with flash.

I have to ask, how keen cops are checking your lids in the land of milk 'n' honey??
Asking cause I've been riding past 20 or so years with totally illegal lid a O-Hei helmet. Similar to Davida classic but true vintage. Never had an issue with cops.
Sometimes when I use 3/4 helmet, they're novelty or just plain old, with no approvals. Also never a problem.

G, sorry, didn't find time to pop in to see these guys at the weekend, but it looks like you're moving forward quickly - are they building a new bike for you?
