IH-1955-UHR - Ultra Heavy Raw 1955 Cut
-
Mine arrived last week. Followed the instructions regarding the soak and wash. Did it a second time with slightly hotter water in the hope of shrinking the hips a bit more. Waist is spot on and while the hip block (?) is still fuller than I'd like, they do look less jodper-esque.
Only thing I have noticed is a slight left leg twist. The outer seam, at the bottom seam, is rotated maybe a half to an three quarters of inch forward. Or clock-wise if you're looking straight down. And while no one else would ever notice… It's akin to hanging wallpaper and making a slight mismatch in the pattern where it lines up the next sheet. You know it's there, but... Lol.
That leg twist used to drive me nuts, but now I miss it if I don't see it. My 301 have it bad!

Leg twist used to bother me but now that I've been indoctrinated in the ways of raw denim it's fine and to be expected.
Regarding hip flare, I notice this too – as well as on my 633s IH/Self Edge collaboration pair, but not on the 634s. I've heard that the tendency for the hips to flare out to the side (not the most flattering look) settles down with time. I'm hoping this is true but also aware that the extra room is one of the reasons why the 1955-UHR is so comfortable -- trim at the waist with lots of room in the top block.
Enjoy those '55's -- leg twist and hip flare and all

I feel safer in my 1955-UHR's Graeme. Serious below the belt protection

When I'm ready for another pair of denim, this will probably be it. (unless the indigo warp/weft model blows me away)

These are fading really fast in comparison the the 18oz raw and the 21oz flagship. Really surprised by how they're coming along, and not the least bit upset with the purchase. It's starting to get a bit too warm to wear them frequently unfortunately. I'm getting them ready to be put away for the 6 month rest. Will be sure to get some shots before that takes place.
After their second wash, they're a perfect fit/size for me. All pockets are fantastic, the cut itself a delight. All the right space in all the right places.

@Snowy Has it been too hot to wear these? How are they going? Any evo pics, yet?
I have been wearing my XHSs so haven't really given my UHRs much attention
However, the oiliiness of this denim not only feels silky but suggests to me a lovely dirty-looking fade in time, possibly akin to LVC 501 1937 South West soil finish of 10 to 12 years ago, without the blotchiness.

@Snowy I've worn mine a few times, probably about 2 weeks in total. Mine are tight in the waistband but have room for movement elsewhere, without being baggy. I'm hoping to get a new phone with a 13 megapixel camera soon so may be able to post better pics than my previous efforts. I tried out my 666 UHR last night - they are a fantastic fit, better than XHS 666s and the fly seems to be lower than on those, too.

I found this, looks easy enough!!

The 55's are effin great. For a heavyweight they're remarkably comfortable after only a few wears. Along with the Roy 02's my favorite.

Should have picked up another pair before they ran out of my size. Argh. See also 1st world problems.

Hi,
I already own a few kickstarter denim ( Gustin, RPMWest ) and I want to buy a new jean but with better quality. 3 cut/brand get my attention : IH 1955 ; FH 3009 and Fullcount 1101.
I want to have roomy thigh ( particulary in the upper thigh ) but with a little taper ( I have big thigh but small calf ). Can anyone tell more about those cuts ?
And what means " middle straight " ?Thank you a lot
Aymeric
