Clearly my point has been misconstrued. The whole critique point was merely trying to get people to stop and actually think instead of just regurgitating fodder.

Jeff,
I edited my post because I don't feel like I did a great job of conveying the way I feel about this place and your thoughts. I like your original post as it's very honest, accurate, and from the heart. If every post here were as well thought out, we'd have a hell of a forum. I don't disagree in the least and have said above that it's our responsibility to keep this place interesting with poignant discussion. I admit, I've made blanket statements in the WAYWT threads. I guess I never saw it as damaging, but I can see how it makes us lazy posters. I think I speak for a lot of people in that I'm going to work on upping my forum game. -
I wouldn't mistake silence for approval. Perhaps it makes me a bad forum member, but I usually don't say anything if I disapprove of a fit. We all know how to dress ourselves I hope.

Part of my way as well. Either that or if I don't have the capacity to articulate clearly (or at least enough to be pointed), I won't say it at all.

My 2 cents:
People come, people go, only the diehards remain, that´s something you can´t change and I don´t wanna change. If someone thinks the IHF lost personality because some members moved on or some members are banned, that´s bullshit. You are still a part of it, you´ll get out what you put in.When I see a outfit I don´t like, I don´t say it because it´s up to the dude who wears the stuff. Different styles, different ideas, we are all adults or grown ups and we know what we do. If you don´t like it, do it better. But it´s tricky, because feedback can be something very positive.
Maybe it´s the "language barrier", in school we learned to speak a very polite english. The community is growing, we have members from all around the world (even from "countries" like Belgium…), when most of the dudes just know words like epic, awesome and other freakin adjectives for nice or great, it´s normal that you don´t see "negative adjectives".
I don´t think it´s a bad thing. But yeah, let´s improve some things, just like the competition thread, I would love to see another world-tour, and maybe try to post some more constructive criticism.
I love the IHF, made good friends, met great people, read tons of nice stuff, learned a lot about denim, fabrics and so on.
Can´t stop, won´t stop, IHFFIH!

Maybe I have no sense of humor and maybe I am the problem. I guess only time will tell.
-
Obviously I don't know you all that well, D666, but that you have no sense of humour I find very hard to believe.
I do think this discussion has a very good potential to lead to the kind of improvement that you argue for. That's my hope at least. -

Nicely done.
And @Seul thinks Germans have no sense of humour…
I laughed out loud at that one
I thought Belgium was a province of The Netherlands. Or a satellite of Luxembourg. Can you help with this @Seul?
-
You're a good sport @seul, my hat's off to ya!

^now this…is some serious bullshit right here!
why do you only comment on things that you like? that's not what a forum is for imo! if I like something - I comment! if I don't like it or if something (to me!) is wrong with the outfit/fit - I comment.
it's not about kissing ass all the time...sometimes you need to spank it as well! be honest and let people know what you think that's right or wrong!and about the "language barrier" ...I def. had to laugh out loud at that one, sorry!
besides the polite things you gone learn in school, cuss-words are the first thing you'll learn when starting to learn a new language!
so after that, the forum actually should be full of honest meaning words (good and bad)...so the "language barrier" (to me) is just a shitty excuse! -.- -
Some people just aren't into clashing with others, Rafa. I don't think I'd comment on a shitty WAYWT pic either, just cause I rather focus on positive vibes. I'd comment if someone explicitely asked, though.
This is, however, my opinion, and I don't think commenting is wrong at all. Just not into it myself.

Does really anybody think this place would improve if all would critisize and neg every thing/fit they don't like? Look back to sufu 4-6 years ago - I hated the cool, sarcastic, lifeless comments of the bored internet generation. It's a good thing to have some manners and know when to shut your mouth. Nothing against constructive critic espescially when someone asks for it, but we don't really need all bad vibes here now under the flag of honesty.

Quoted for truth.

I think it's presumptuous to assume people are kissing ass, and arrogant to tell people how to think and act.
-
Hehehe touche. Fucking arrogant tossers
