@Winchy's IH 1950 Service boots arrived whilst I was AFK. Picked them up last night and have put them on now @ 940pm 75f/24c. No heel slip, bit of movement when flexing the foot. Feels like love baby!
4k walk in the city today. Feeling bullet proof, no pain or slippage at all. Easiest boots I'ver ever had. Lots of room in the boot for my toes, thanks to the E. Thanks again Mr Winch!

Sorry if this was discussed already but looking at the pricing of these exceptional boots I'm interested in the Sample Sale mentioned before. Would be great if anybody of the experts here could share some insights.
How wide is the range of the discounted boots and sizes? How many items of a certain models and sizes are usually being discounted? Do I have to be very lucky to get something in particular?
Are the samples slightly damaged or are these just regular items?
Does anybody already know when the next sample sale is?
-
^must have a quick trigger finger it's the quick or the dead. Samples are more readily available in sizes less than 10.5. From my understanding they are always in excellent conditions. Prices usually are $200 less than retail prices.
-
I've seen some janky shit released in the sample sales. Look very closely before you buy. Great opportunity to get Vibergs on the cheap, but caveat emptor.
-
@mental floss, I had good luck with the sample sale. I did a lot of research before and knew what I wanted. Sizing, lasts, leathers and soles. When I saw a boot that had 3 out of the 4 I jumped. I hit send on the email before the pics had finished loading. A definite gamble, but they went extremely quick.
I haven't seen anything, is another sample sale planned?
-
Thanks @derivative666 @mclaincausey @summ3rhays !
And are there rather slow sellers on sale or also popular stuff? I'm on the fence e.g. for the Boondocker or the Service Boot Smoke Reverse Kudu which both might be popular enough to get off the shelves for regular prices…
Is there a sample sale on a regular basis anyway?
Sorry for asking noob questions but I just want to get a better understanding if it's worth waiting or if it's even necessary to hurry up before they are sold out in regular shops (similar to certain IH products).

Never apologize for asking questions, we love to help people on here.
Sample sales seem to occur randomly but in clusters. So, they'll announce they have a few coming up, and then they'll announce the few, and then they'll occur, and in some cases you get jammed up by their Web site not being able to handle the traffic. It's tough, Viberg is so popular now. The best way to know about them is to track online forums like this one or "the horse's mouth," Viberg's Instagram feed. Even if you're Johnny On the Spot you might still get iced out with or without the web site working properly under scale.
-
@mental floss what size boot are you?
-
Thanks again, @mclaincausey ! Sounds like big potential in both directions.
@mental floss what size boot are you?
I'm a 10.5 US in my Iron Rangers. Why?
-
You never know. I've seem what I consider to be very popular styles. They definitely go faster though.
-
@mental floss The sample sale is stressful, but if the force is with you, it's definitely worth the effort imo (having said that I'm a size 12 and had no success on my 1st and only try). Like summ3hays says, preparation is key - know your size (prob. a 10 in viberg if you are 10.5 in red wing), what last you are interested in, and be johnny on the spot when it launches. And I also agree with mclain, they will usually talk up upcoming releases, boots going to their preferred retailers, and things like sample sales on instagram.

Thanks a lot for your feedback, gentlemen!
I will keep my eyes open.

@mental floss I own the reverse kudu smoke boots and I highly recommend them. The most buttery and dense leather I've handled (wearing mine today). There is a third sample sale coming at some point, but Guy told me things have been crazy and they haven't been able to set it up yet. It's a real crap shoot. If you really want a pair of Vibergs, just buy them direct. The sample sales have SOME cool options but as others have noted, they can have some glaring defects or - in the case of the pair I wanted to buy - they have been previously worn!
Boondocks are cool too - but I like the uniqueness of the kudu, especially in that color. You won't be disappointed (and if you're a 10.5 in Red Wing, unless you have a super wide foot I'm pretty sure you're a 10 in Viberg).

@Spring Son of Light
Amazing boots! I already liked the pics from some pages before a lot where they look rather blueish. Now the color seems to be lighter than on the website. I wonder which is closest to reality.Nice socks btw!

Thanks! I would say the boots only look bluish in photos. They're really a light grey. Smokey even.

I LOVE those kudus - want so bad - but must resist. Too many boots. But those are top of my list "if" I was going to grab another pair. @Spring Son of Light you are a fortunate man!
