Ahh, so you have the famed waxed Watchman! I think I spent hours admiring that jacket while waiting for mine to arrive. If/when I get the balls to wax mine, I might just hit you up for some advice. It looks so damn good!
I wish! No, the jacket is not mine. Rather, I have merely admired it from afar. It is owned by John B.

Happy to have picked this up from the SE Que Pasa sale. The Le Paletot reminds me of an early cousin of the M-65.
BTW, I ordered my usual size. It came raw and oversized so I threw it in Hot wash and full blast hot dryer… against MF recommendation. But it came out alright and shrunk to the expected fit.

One thing that drives me nuts about some mf jackets is that the sleeve buttons are on the inside

That's right, GMB… I've not noticed that before. Must drive Toyo Enterprise mad when Christophe has all these specs for the MFSC story board.
Speaking of jackets, I did get touchy feely with the Helo Jacket at SE and it is REALLY NICE! Accounting for the 14% sale, it was still a hefty $800 bones. The build and cut borrows elements from MA-1 but the lack of the waist band (opposed to Buzz Rickson MA-1) makes it more streamlined.

Arrow, could you repost your pic? It wont show up for some reason.

That waxed watchman is the nuts. Tones it down just a bit. Thanks for sharing that…
I took another pic of the new chaparral blouse - this captures the color much better. I'd like to get a better pic but when I ask my wife to help me she thinks I'm nuts and I have to deal with her bullshit. Good news is she "approves" of the jacket - likes it.
This is a little big across the shoulders, through the chest and the sleeves are a bit long - so I'm thinking of giving it a cold soak - but I don't want to lose any/much length in the torso. And I guess it is probably better for layering as it is now.
-
I'm glad she likes it, it is a killer piece. I really like the buttons and leather pocket darts.
-
Thanks @Anesthetist I think the MF jackets are generally off the hook - it's been fun exploring the brand and living vicariously through you and others on the forum. @arrow I hope you are happy getting that one on sale! So nice. And getting a MF jacket (or anything) on sale is a special treat.

I'm green with envy! I saw a medium on the website but my net was spotty because we are at Disney World. When i finally got net, it was gone. Back to your shirt. I cant get over the color. It looks downright saturated with color! I bet the fading will be amazing.

@Bluegrass great métis there congrats!!! one of the best MF Shirts atm imho.
Faro coat looks great enjoy it, it's meant to fit a bit trimmed due to the given theme of the late 1800's I think. shoulders and cuffs look spot on. have you rinsed it yet? I assume you can close the coat without Problems and having a bit space to layer the waistcoat, right?. the way you wear it with a lighter shirt and a waistcoat is superb. you can try combining it also with a plain chambray or some striped wabash together with the vest. happy exploring. enjoy -
Thanks @davito I haven't rinsed it and plan not to for awhile. No trouble closing it at all - it has an appropriately generous fit through middle and at the waist - it just feels snug and a bit binding through the chest/shoulders if I wear a heavy flannel/denim/twill shirt. I think it's because the sleeves are fairly trim, that's why wearing it with a vest works so well.
And the metis is perfect after soaking - I feel very fortunate that worked out so well.

The expansion pleats are a nice feature that I've come to appreciate on my Ranchero. It almost feels like an action back and helps the shirt to drape better. Nice buy Jeef, I look forward to its progress.
