Looks about right for the 21oz. it's not you, it's the denim.

Yeah, it's a real b*tch to fade!
But I love the 21oz more than any other denim I've tried. -
Need some help.
Rivet and Hide's sizing says the sz. 31 leg opening is 7.1 but here it says its 7.3. Both measure the same way so im a little confused. Also, im a true 32. My Pure Blue Japans that fit me perfectly are measured exactly at 32.
Should I get the sz. 30 or 31? Since the sz 30 = 30.5 and people say they stretch out an inch I feel like that still wouldnt be enough. But the sz. 30 knee size is perfect for me ::)
Im thinking about playing it safe and just getting the 31 but I feel like the top part of the denim would be baggier than what I would like. Any recommendations?

The 21oz can easily stretch the 1.5" you need in the waist. If all other dimensions are ideal on the 30, I think that's what you should go with.
Also, the discrepancy between IHUK & R&H's measurements is so minute (.2 inches), that it's most likely just the difference between the sample lot that was measured. Retailers don't measure every single pair of jeans they have in stock, and then take an average of their measurements– that would be incredibly time consuming. They typically take the average of several pairs, and .2" is a common/entirely acceptable margin of error. Additionally, slight differences in measurements between the dimensions of each pair (even from pairs in the same run) is standard with every brand.
If you have a specific dimension that you are particular about (I understand this; thighs are a problem for me), then just email IHUK or R&H and ask for a pair with your preferred measurement. I guarantee they will be happy to get you exactly what you like, so don't be shy.
Great choice with the 21oz, BTW. My 1955s are my favorite pair in the rotation.

@joshbeenhad that is great advice/post by @seanocono - heck the same person could measure the same garment on different days and vary by .2" - unless you just like a looser fit that waist should be fine… you will surely love the 21oz, enjoy!
-
Besides that it doesn't sound as if Josh is looking for a "looser fit", this cut surely is meant to be worn snug. So I second it, have some courage, don't go for a loser fit. A 30 will serve you well. And by all means have the helpful staff support you in finding a pair that perhaps is on the right end of the margin of error. Enjoy!

Thanks for all the help guys. I honestly appreciate it and need it since i've never purchased a pair of IH before. Im just really cautious because I dont want to be spending this much money only having to exchange it and waste $ and time by shipping it back (Learned this the hard way).
Still have to give it some thought about deciding what size to get. My main concern is that if I do end up getting the sz. 30 the waist wont stretch enough. I need it stretch it a 32 so I'll def. look back more pages to see some testimonies on how much the jeans stretch.
Also, @grabby22 , whats the tag size on those? They looks awesome

Got my pair today. They fit perfect and the sz. 30 didnt feel tight at all. Prob. because the thigh and rise were pretty loose. Extremely happy with my purchase. Thanks again for all the help guys.

Received mine today!! [30/36]
My first pair of IH.
I measured for them against my former favorite which have a 32" waist. I'm 5'10", 155lbs.
On first wear they were a bit tight to button the top of the fly, but nothing terribly difficult or uncomfortable. As soon as they're broken in I foresee them being absolutely perfect.Huge thanks to everyone at IH, and especially this thread for all of the friendly help and info!!
Natural lighting.
Indoor lighting.Day 1. Better fit pics soon.

Hello,
I 've just discovered this fabulous brand. VERY interested in the 555 01 model.
Can we expect a lot of stretch, particularly at thigh and knee level ?
I'm looking for a tapered denim but not for a very slim, in the different pictures in this thread, those jeans don't look that slim. is that true or are they really really slim ?
thank you very much for your help

You can expect a good amount of Stretch in the waist of the 21 oz Indigo model (so this one). The thighs and knees might also Stretch a bit, but not crazy amounts. As the top block of the 555 is rather generous but tapers a lot to the knee and below, chosse wisely, wether you can make them work. I can, and I normally can't wear Slim / skinny fits. They don't feel like jeggings but are surely pretty narrow in the legs.

thanks a lot !

Agree with Max, these are "slim" not "skinny" - I find them roomy at top with a mid to slightly high rise, and they taper proportionately all the way down. Measure some jeans you like and compare, "the Iron Heart way" - that will give you the best view of how they will fit. This cut is not for everybody - you might also look at the 666 or Beatle Busters for a slimmer fit (vs. the 634).

@ maxpuissant
I've had these for almost two years. The waist has streched nicely, but the thigh and knee are still snug , although very nice and soft.

Thank you very much for the help.
I've never seen a forum with so many nice people

Had mine for 7 months now, soaked in the sink at 4 months due to alcohol spillage…
I'm tempted to throw them in the washing machine now, but not sure if it's down to boredom or them needing a wash?
