Good idea, or horrible butchering of a good pair of boots?
They are a bit over priced for a used pair that has been cut in half. Otherwise, I'm tempted….

Plus they look awful (this is my experience of awful looking White's boots, which I loved anyway)

Fugly. Looks completely out of proportion to the sole

Found this pic from a while back. Thinking of getting a similar BH in brown or black dress. El Chingon (or someone else) or someone else, is this a celastic or noncelastic toe with the medallion toe cap?
Brown Dress BH broken in nicely, love them.

Definitely medallion cap, definitely elastic toe.

Thanks, gents. I thought it was probably a celastic toe. I have a few pairs of White's, both with and without celastic. Like them both for different reasons. Am trying to decide what would work best with the medallion cap and brown or black dress leather. I guess maybe celastic, though I do wonder, per Bluegrass, if the medallion toe cap and dress leather would hold up just as well without.

With the medallion you should fine and it might take out some of the bulb! But dress leather by itself or even just with liner is not recommended, have tried it and you see every piggy move (toe). Saying that, it depends on the thickness of the batch of dress they use per boot….if that makes sense?

Thanks, EastWest, what you say makes sense. Gonna ponder it …

Yep, Megatron knows his stuff.
Added another pair since then, with another pair on order.
Black SJs, steel toe, Vibram 100, lined. 7.4 lbs aka door breachers.
