Bummer Graeme, hope that gets resolved quickly. :-
PayPal is awful, I wish there were other alternatives!
Haven't heard from Papa on my overdyed cap yet, remaining patient!Okay boys so here it is, Austin, I over dyed two Corsairs over the weekend and chose the best one which is now winging it's way over to you as we speak. Graeme as discussed this morning we can by pass the gremlins with either of the options I send you.

Soaked and machine-dried my Convoy Cap, it shrinked a little bit and now it's perfect.
Papa got a little restock, act fast before they are sold out again! -
The Papa and I managed to overcome the ordering gremlins, and a Battalion hat is now winging it's way to me.
Looking forward to it. I hope these things aren't too addictive…
Don't count on it, I was planning my next hat the minute I received my corsair.

Same here. I ordered the Salt & Pepper. When I like it, I gonna order the camo from Giles, the OD HBT avenger caps sounds good too.

Cool!!! You ordered another one? Just for the case, that someone steals the hat…

Does the OG Ships Cap has a plastic snapback or leather? Maybe @tmg can answer my question?

Custom felt lettering:
Well, this isn't exactly the Avenger, but the feeling is the same. The lettering I hand cut out of felt and sewed on the front for a personalised custom. I was inspired by what I thought my baseball team, the Atoll Defenders would wear when playing the inter- island league out here in the South Pacific.
I really really encourage all to customise your stuff as this is very much in the spirit of what the Papa is all about. Take a GI issue item and make it your own, give it an identity. The Avenger will eventually be a modified version of my classic Corsairs cap. It's constructed of 9oz olive drab herringbone twill with a billiard green underbrim to cut the glare. John Lofgren is busy sampling as we speak working hard to achieve the Papa's exacting specifications. -
Might as well just take my money now Papa

@Papa Nui posted this on his Instagram feed the other day. It's an Ansel Adams photo of an interned Japanese man during WW2.
Is it wrong that I like the cap?

Not at all!! The cap is most likely a US issue mountain troops cap, think 10th Mountain Division. It was freezing cold out in these desert camps so anything to keep warm. What's more although the Japanese were interned they were all American citizens and so had free reign of the camp and certainly 'liberties' to work outside the fences on various agricultural projects. This was the norm until the government passed laws that allowed them to join the US Army where they formed up the nisei regiments. They fought in Europe against the Germans and become the most decorated unit in American military history. A great story! But back to the cap. If you like this style then C.C. Filson do a fantastic tincloth version.

Wrong that you like the cap? No, not at all. Wrong that we rounded up our own citizens and put them in internment camps? That's a different issue altogether.
