IH-777S-21 - Super-Slim Tapered 21oz Indigo Selvedge Jean - VERSION 1
-
Interesting feedback on the size 36 IH777. I have the 555-01's and the 555-03's both in a size 36. I'm 6'3" so the long length works for me. Looking at the specs on the 777's they look so close in numbers to the 555-01's I wonder if I would even notice a difference. Do you think the 0.5 in the rear rise and 0.4 in the knee would make a big difference?

Giles, what size do you wear in these?
-
No one got any fit pics

I don't. Cant' get them on, that is why Sam is the model.
-
Hmmm… @Giles you wear the same size I do (33) and the measurements on the size 34 in these look perfect for me. What part of the jeans are you having problems with? Just curious if I'm missing something that the measurements aren't reflecting.

Fit pics…. Or didn't happen...

Hey Giles, any plans on the black fade to grey in 777???
-
I bought a pair of 777 in 31, the measurements look pretty the same like the 666 18oz raw after a wash, but the fit is completly different. Its the best cut you have ever done giles, thx! I love the 777! Hope it comes also with the 18oz raw fabric.
Yeah this is what i thought and am hoping for. Give us a fitpic LuckyLuke !

I want to nail the cut in 21oz indigo first. Once that is done, then I'll start producing it in other denims….
I'm all set for the 21oz denim with two pairs in rotation already, but I'm very excited about the development of this fit and the tweaks you have planned. Both the double indigo and an eventual sbg iteration would be great to see.

Seriously no one has posted a fit pic yet?

Let's not forget the 25oz denim. Really keeping my fingers crossed for that.

I received my 777's today and can't be happier with the top block and thighs. I've struggled with sz 38 555's (good leg, huge top block, too high rise for my gut) and sz 36 666's (huge legs, tiny top block, good rise). These 777's are the closest I've gotten to perfect, but I agree that the hem opening could be slightly smaller.
As a bigger guy with a short inseam (sz 36/38, 30" inseam), it's really hard to find pair of pants that fit. Most size 38 pants are made for a longer inseam, so after I hem them they end up with an absolutely enormous hem opening.
Hello there,
I am amazed because I experienced nearly the same with my IH-555-01 (W38), which were way too big after some wear and with my IH-666S (W36), I can't even put on after a soak. Can you please tell us which size you went in the 777 (36 or 38)? I am pending between 36 and 38 but am afraid of the amount the waist might stretch on the bigger one. Thanks.[First post btw, very nice forum to visit, I've been stalking it for months before deciding to join…]

Size 38 in the 777's.
Here is how some other stuff fit for me. Keep in mind this is factoring in a really weird shape that is hard to find jeans for. Ideally I probably am looking for a size 38 waist with skinny legs (8" at the cuff). Maybe I can take some fit pics tomorrow and show you what being a weird shape means.
634S - size 36 - Hilarious in all ways. Huge up top, huge down below. No way.
555-02 - size 38 - Huge top block. Diaper butt extreme. Too high rise. Thighs/knees/hems were good.
666S - size 36 - Bought these used. They were as stretched out as could be. Top block wasn't bad but a bit snug. Thighs were skin tight. legs were too big.
SEXIHXLSXA13 - size 32 - Skin tight jeggings. Nope. To be fair, 32's in this cut fit like a 35 or 36.
SEXIHXLSXA13 - size 34 - Similar to 666S but lower rise. Good top block, tight thighs, big leg opening. I still wear these a fair bit.
IHxBxHCx25oz - size 36 - Too high of a rise, big in the legs, tight waste. Not crazy on these.
IH-666-XHS - size 36 - Post soak these were CRUSHING in the waist, hips and thighs. Not in a "it'll stretch out" sort of way either. Ball crushers, no chance. Legs were large but tolerable.
777S-21 - size 38 - Pretty good up top, and maybe a tad big in the leg. I'll probably have them tapered a bit more and be done with it. based on that, I suspect a 666 in size 38 would also be fine for me. I just needed to size up for the waist and taper to get the leg fit I wanted. I haven't had them tapered yet so I haven't worn them much so I can't speak to the stretch much. Based on the previous pairs I've tried, I don't think they'll stretch all that much. Just enough to be comfortable. And welcome

Thank you very much for your summary. It's very interesting to see your experience since I have the same ''problems'' with my jawnz. With a bigger waist (~38,5) and bigger thighs, long inseam (L34), but slightly smaller calves I prefer a hem of 8 inches for a fitted look. This combination is a tad hard to find on IH. My 2 favorites now are the W38 666S (I love the 18 oz denim) and the W38 777 and I think I might go with the new 777 because the 21-oz-denim is superb in comfort. When choosing other brands / models you can possibly try the Lee 101 Z and Edwin 55, they do have a comfortable top-block and a slight taper for a great look for bigger guys (but I don't think anyone would go back to other brands when they've tried Iron Heart once :).

thanks for the posts @Ragehaver & @den213 not sure if it's still active, but there was a section for real sizes folks wear. Would be great to get your input in there.
oh & Ragehaver I love that you just keep looking for the perfect cut, keep at it

How about SE's IH633s? They are straight tapered. Sounds like the ideal specs you may be interested in.
