DIP(sour)A. Extremely sour and extremely bitter at 150 IBU. The sour and tart notes somehow work together with the extreme bitterness. Like an apricot, a lemon, and a grapefruit having a menage a tois in a pile of yeast. This is an interesting beer and eminently quaffable despite its size. Really love it.

This imperial stout, aged wildly in oak in southern Illinois, and served at 55F. Reminds me of a really bright coffee infused with sour cherries and a hint of the barn. A pronounced alcoholic burn (10% ABV) makes me wish it were chillier outside. A big beer that insists I linger. An outstanding sour ale er stout. I'm anxious to try their noted framboise lambic now.
This sounds amazing. I will be scouring the city of St. Louis tomorrow for this. But for tonight:
Sainte Adairius Cask 200. Very nicely balanced sour. Delicious

Sweet, complex, strong, beautiful. Low in carbonation but not an issue due to its sirup-y texture…

This is another solid outing from Trinity Brewing. TPS Report. Haha. Dudes wrecking a printer for saying "PC LOAD LETTER" A tart (pH = 5) witbier.
This is next. Wow. They aged in chardonnay casks with Riesling grapes. Champagne, funk, grape. It's more delicate than its alcohol punch.

Jealous. My plan is to discover the world of Hefeweisse beer this summer… Franziskaner, Paulaner, Weihenstephaner, Ayinger,...
Visiting two beer stores tomorrow... Geers on Friday... It's gonna be a good week...
If available, go for the Schneider Weisse (Tap 7). And the Franziskaner Dunkles Weißbier.

Aventinus is a brewery I know, and thoroughly like…
Funny you mention it, btw... On April 5th my brother is organising a DJ Scratch Event at our flat... We will be serving... Schneider Tap 7...
He's also organising a barbeque for his birthday April 26th... We will be serving... Schneider Tap 7... And Tap 5 after dinner...

Not sure if you'll be able to come across it, but Live Oak makes a pretty nice hefe: http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/383/1062/
It's funny, it's so widely available here that we don't really think of it as a really good beer. -
