DWCxUHR - Denim World Championship Ultra Heavy Raws…
-
Indigo bleed massacre (good name for a band) in my bathroom.
-
Lol great band name …. and fit pics???
-
Not in their current (wet) state.
-
10-4 are you letting dry before machine wash?
-
No, straight in. I can't see it making any difference.
-
No @Megatron1505 ! Straight in is no soak, no wash, no nothing!
That's what I did with my 634 UHRs on Sunday - I'm still a bit sore, mind you!
@Giles will caution against this, though as the denim is so abrasive it can cut the stitching! The overall first try of those UHRs made me check stock levels, though - if I've found the perfect pair of jeans I will need a pair in reserve! The 1955 UHRs are coming on nicely and I like the 666 UHRs too…but the lack of an orange arcuate meant the DWC variant didn't appeal to me!
-
@superfuzz looks like a dam good pre soak fit. Reckon you are to winner with these.
-
No @Jeansman I was asked if I had let them dry before washing, which I didn't. Straight in is local parlance.
-
@Megatron1505 . Oh yes so you were!
-
Bam. Check the comp thread for more pics.
-
@spitfiredealer Thanks! I'm really happy with the fit. As long as I can deal with the waist they should be perfect!
@summ3rhays Great fit! After seeing the wear on your MBB, I can't wait to see what you do with the UHR denim.

Very enjoyable posts that remind me of when I got my 666UHR last Oct, my first ever heavy raw jeans. It was a time of uncertainty, anticipation and small pains and rewards - truly an awesome experience and looking back at these pictures brings it all back [emoji4]
The denim is truly spectacular and should yield great stuff in the competition IMO [emoji106] -

@Megatron1505. Thanks
@superfuzz I found that buttoning and unbuttoning them a couple of times before you put them on works wonders. Got them on a 2nd time today no problem.
@skaterpunk437 I'm a size 34 tagged, and these are the best I can do. I live in a cave, no light, no mirrors. I might possibly be a vampire… -
I will be around a few other vampires tomorrow and will get somebody to take a few better pics in some sunlight.
-
Wow great fit and sick predator

I also should point out: I haven't noticed these being "too warm" for summer wear yet. After living in 25 oz IH denim for so long, even sleeping in it most nights, this denim seem like the perfect weight. The 21 oz sanforized seems ultra light now, the 25 oz denim washed several times seems super thick. This 21/ 23 oz denim feels just right. IH 21/23 oz denim codename: Goldielocks haha

Got mine yesterday, thumbs still sore from buttoning them. Did the old guy (I'm 62) express break in. Hot soaked them for an hour, then warm washed them, inside out, and then put them in the dryer with extra drier/fabric softener sheets and tennis balls. Thought they would have shrunk more than they did, especially with machine drying them. They're pretty comfortable today, and look amazing.–Jett

I used pliers to get the top button initially unbuttoned. I always soak them with coins pressed into the buttonholes. Can't remember where I saw it, but it works pretty well to get them stretched out in the beginning.
