a brilliant fit @Anesthetist,
lucky you! -
That jacket is so sick @Anesthetist.

I loved my MN Topsiders and I loved the Oki denim CPO - so why not not got for the Oki Topsiders?? These look short but I actually have them cuffed the width of the hem ~2". I kind of like them this way - show off your boots. These pants are "different with the wraparound legs, big low rear pockets - but I am really liking them.
I soaked these and they came out of the rinse with a really crispy effect. Stiff as a board. But they soften up very quickly. Very pleased so far.
-
Wow, these look much better than I expected them to. Really like the pockets and overall fit on you. How is the rise?
These, the denim Utes, or something like the Jack/Knife pair? Decisions…. -
Another question for the MF collectors here. Does anyone own the Loco jacket? Dunno why but it has had my eye for a long time, but the length keeps me away. If you have one, how is the fit?
-
@Bluegrass
i really like them,
great fit! -
Thx guys.
@Anesthetist I'd say these are a mid-rise - not real high like some of the MF stuff but def. not low where you feel like your ass is hanging out. These pants are really comfortable - the wrap leg construction is really different, feels kind of "old-timey" - in a good way - my wife said they looked like Amish pants :). And the Okinawa denim is such a great fabric - it actually feels heavier than 11 oz to me - but these are going to be go-to jeans for the spring/summer for sure.
I've also looked at the Loco jacket and was intrigued but it would definitely be too short for me with my long torso - but I think it's a neat jacket. I'm currently lusting for the Lot 64 Ranch Blouse and/or Gunslinger Jumper I also just picked up the Shipyard Chinos in khaki and the NOS hickory stripe Sportsman shirt, so I'm done buying clothes for awhile.

Quality over quantity any day right? At least that's what I tell myself….
Great scores @Bluegrass.
-
@Bluegrass how do you rate the Mister Freedom Topsiders in MN?
I was considering getting a pair, and was wondering how durable they felt.
-
@Graeme Just a heads up, this site has size 30 and 32 for cheap.
-
@Graeme I am a big fan of the MN twill and the cut of the Topsider pants - that's what led me to the Oki version. The fabric is lightweight but quite durable imo. It's a cool color, and something different than the standard blue jeans. If I didn't already have the map shirt in calvary twill I'd grab it in the MN as well. I think you would find it hard not to like this fabric.
-
Thanks @Bluegrass. I'll have to get a pair.
Did your MNs stretch back out to their pre-soak size with wear?

I'd size these using the "rinsed" measurements on the MF site - they def. snug up quite a bit, then relax with a brief amount of wear - but they won't go all the way back to pre-soak sizing. The waist will stretch but they will lose 1-2" length in the inseam and all the other measures will snug up. To be honest, I was worried they might be too loose before I soaked them, then I was worried they might be too tight after I soaked them! I always get my usual IH tag size in MF and so far they have always worked out just right. The beauty of high quality STF goods is they will generally evolve to fit you perfectly.
