Max, that is strange you got such a tight waist on a tag size 35. It should have been 36". I know I got 33" on my tag size 32. Hopefully you can get them to stretch.
What are your thoughts on the cut, is the leg opening what you were expecting? it was a surprise to me how full the cut is thinking at first it would be slimmer. I have not worn mine yet, debating still if these are keepers.
I note in your pictures your pants do have the same hip flare as mine do, should soften with a few wears I hope. -
It's my third pair of 710s, the others were 34 and I thought I would be safe sizing up to 35. All measurements are perfect and roomy, but you can notice how slim the waist looks on the pictures. I think it must have been a mistake in the factory. I alway tell people that the 710 is not really a slim cut, rather a tapered straight fit so I am not surprised by the hipflare - it will wear out and be ok after soaking. But I'm not wether I'll soak at all - I don't think I can make them work. My current WH 800 has a whole inch more after repeated washes.
I might get a 36 if there's any available.

Think I am going to agree with your gf, they do look a little roomy particularly in the thigh, of course it depends on how you like to wear them though

You have some leeway with the inseam give them a hot wash & dry.

Chop this up to another denim blunder. I blindly purchased a W36 710xx because it is a slim tapered jean that is the same size that I have in my strike golds which fit very nice…I already cold washed them once and the jeans shrunk a little. If I hot wash and tumble dry, will I get notable shrinkage? I have leeway on the inseam because I have a 1.25 inch cuff...

There's no real way for you to permanently shrink them unless they are unsanforized they will just stretch out again…imo the waist may shrink but not the thigh.. How about trading for a new pair..

Thanks for the input guys. I wanted something that was more slim straight (like my SG 3105) and thought that the 710xx would fit the bill but didn't really pay attention to the measurements before I purchased (yes, I'm a newbie). I will probably end up selling and trying my luck by sizing down to a W35 or getting something else entirely (thinking of the IH 666s or TFH 1001).

Do I understand you correctly? You wor them for 6 months and ask now for a comment on the fit?
Or where they worn by someone else for 6 months, then bought by you (not knowing how big they might be)?As khaki said, the denim is unsanforized and if they only have been washed once in cold water, there should be more shrinkage left in the denim. That said, the 19oz denim from Samurai doesn't shrink as much as other unsanforized denims out there

Fit after one day - I'm quite happy. If they stretch a bit more, I might not need to alter them. The denim is awesome. They'll go into thecloset now, as we'll get up to 35°C this week.

Me in my 710xx tag size 36. Opinions on the fit? This is after soaking and wearing for about 6 months. Since then, I've given them their first wash in the machine and they shrunk a little but my gf says that they look a big….
Thinking of buying another pair of 710's and sizing down to get a slim fit.
As it stands, my tag size W36 measure as follows (BIG Style):
W 37
FR 11.5
BR 16
Thigh 13
Knee 9.5
Hem 8.75I machine washed the jeans twice so I'm assuming that I pretty much got all of the shrinkage out of them. It looks like I lost about half an inch from the waist, thigh, knee, and hem from BIG's sizing charts. Is that consistent with what everyone else is getting with their 710's?
I am thinking of getting a size 35 so I can get a fit similar to my strike golds (below) which have thigh measurement of 12.8 inches and have a knee of 9.25 inches.
What do you guys think? Any help would be appreciated…
