IH-1955-UHR - Ultra Heavy Raw 1955 Cut
-
@andreas1965 ah OK cool choice of beer and jeans

I'm seriously considering getting a pair of 1955-UHR while they still exist through Volls. I'm currently wearing 634-XHS size 33 for the DWC Tux division, and they fit very well. I'd like a little more room in the thighs but I don't want baggy, and a slightly higher rise. I've got some questions I'm hoping fella's with experience with these can help me out with;
sizing - I'm usually a 33 in almost every brand and model I have/had. Given this UHR is raw and will shrink when washed - and I plan on washing regularly - and stretch with wear, and the cut is more generous than the 634, I don't know if I should go with a 33 or size down to a 32.
Details - I see they have lined rear pockets and sewn-in belt loops. Is there a selvedge edge at the fly? I see on one side it is lock stitched. Also, the belt loops look taller/longer and the pockets look lik ethey are cut lower down than the 634. If so, this is a big PLUS for me.
Thanks fella's. Cheers! mpp

The fly doesn't have a selvedge edge. It's lock stitched on both sides.
The rear pockets are lined, and the belt loops are sewn in. I'm not sure how these vary from a pair of 634s.
My pair are a size 33, which measured 34" when I got them. They've stretched back out to 34" or maybe even 35".

What size you wear in other brands is irrelevant, tag sizing is mostly fiction in this industry. As we say on the webpage, you need to do this:
http://www.ironheart.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=2835.0
Webpage says:
Will shrink to about 1/2" smaller than tagsize in the waist and approx 2 inch in the inseam, but after a month or two of wear will stretch back to approx pre-soak size.
The fly does not show selvedge id.
Belt loops and the same size and it is possible that the pockets look lower down because the rear rise is larger than the IH-634S

I like em on you Seul. But if you dont, shoot me a PM.

I have 5 pairs of 634´s… And the next one is not far away
-
Seul, the 1955-UHR looks good on you.
The fit isn't for everyone, but if you have relatively big hips and legs (as I do) and find other cuts a little trim below the waist, the 1955 works really well. It is a different cut, no doubt. For anyone considering them, don't size up. As long as the waist is OK there's a lot of room down below. I wear a 34 in the 1955-UHR but usually have to size up to 36 in other IH models just to get the hips and thighs to be comfortable.

Fella's - thanks for the responses and fit pics. Sorry I missed these posts over the last few weeks.
Seul & Klaus, fit pics look great. I don't think they look too grampa-like. With some break-in time they'll be stellar. These are now at the top of my list for a next pair. I'm still happy with my current 634-XHS, but I'm starting to exercise heavily again, and I can feel them getting snugger around the tighs and hips. A slightly looser cut & higher rise is appealing to me. Cheers! mpp

Got them pretty dirty so I figured I'd take some shots before I wash them. I love these things.

Damn @FormulaPfaff , first you kick my butt in the Bro vs Bro IHSH-75 fade off and now you have a leg up on me with the UHR. Will you ever let me catch up?
Beyond awesome - way to go with the photos and the fades!

@Appfaff thanks dude! I can't wait to see your UHRs when you get them in. Now is actually a great time to catch up on the IHSH-75 since I'm working on my sugar cane shirt at the moment…
