Pulled out the OG (lot 44) Ranch Blouse today - it's hard not to love this jacket!

How warm is the Drover blouse blanket? Is it too much for LA winter weather?
-
Paging Davito
Arabit, do you have a lead on one? They have become a bit hard to find as of late. I love my denim version for what it's worth! -
@Arabit the blanket is a pretty warm jacket, depends on your comfort if you wanna wear it in your weather. I wore mine back then in cold Swiss weather (i.e. Freezing point) and was warm in it but also in warmer weather like 20 Celsius or so was good for me. Remember i am used to cold weather while wearing good clothes and wear most of all my clothes throughout the whole year in different combinations.
@Friday wears his blanket in sweden you may ask his experience. I suggest you ask at mf store about their experience wearing it in LA/cali area as I have no experience with your winter.
I personally would get the jacket if you can but thats me@grandmasterben Ben might chime in too as he tried it too in the store a while ago afaik
-
@Arabit you already know the answer, winter is non-existent here. That jacket is pretty damn warm too.
On the other hand, it's a sick jacket and I strongly recommend getting it if you like it. There's just nothing like it out there, I wish Mister Freedom was still making stuff like from the naval and frontier collections, I got 0 interest in the new stuff!
Still kinda looking for one too in a 38 at good price and condition… although thinking I should just get a deck jacket and call it quits for jackets since like I said, we don't have winter...

@grandmasterben There is a size 38 on Ebay supposedly BNWOT
@Anesthetist There is a BNWT blanket drover on ebay which i am thinking of buying 600 BIN if that fits you go for it!
@davito Thanks D! Very helpful I just needed confirmation. I thought the jacket would be less warm.My only concern now is sizing. The seller has measured the size 44 jacket way off vs SE and MF in the arms which is my main concern. Thickness of the NOS blanket shouldn't affect length
Approximate Measurements are as follows:
Underarm to Underarm: 23 inches
Shoulder to Shoulder: 20 inches
Length: 26.5 inches
Arm Length: 26 inches
I asked the seller how she measured the arm length and she responded with :
"From top of the arm at the should to the wrist." I'm conflicted atm hahaha I need time to think -
Here's some old pictures I have, hopefully it helps. Personally I would go with my true mister freedom size (I'm a 38) because I like tighter fits, but if you wanted a looser fit one size up from normal wouldn't be too sloppy, although it is too sloppy for me. The jacket is among the tighter fits I've had though for sure.
38
40
all the rest of these jackets are 38….

Nice pics Ben! Drover day here:

I have a size 42 and wore mine during the last winter. With proper layering it is a warm jacket. But I also wore mine during autumn with only a t shirt underneath ; 10-11celsius and sometimes while having a night walk.
It is definitely a unique and beautifully made jacket. If you like something different go and get it. I bet you will like it.
Good luck.

@Broark I had the last version of the midnight pea coat and it kept me warm in Vermont winter. Idk how sizing is on this one but last one was giant. At least a whole size big, maybe more.
@UnTucked how wrinkly is yours from the one wash? Really want to grab from Japan to save $300 but it's kinda ridiculous they only offer one wash. Need raw
-
I gave mine the same treatment that Christofer lists on the MF website… I sized down, and wet it using a spray bottle. It will be plenty warm enough of a jacket in Okinawa, considering that the coldest it gets is about 50-55.
It wasn't amazingly wrinkled... Just ever so slightly. I took a spray bottle to her though, because brand new it looks far too pristine, to the point that it looks comical

@UnTucked my 2010 version I got soaked for an hour with stupid hot (almost boiling) water for an hour and then wore until dry. Was still sadly too big

Hadn't seen a lot of posts regarding the Lot654 yet, so I figured I'd share.
Since i missed out on the original Lot54, I figured I'd get the NOS version of the 64 cut with some features reminiscent of the old 54s (aka the lot 654). These were quite oversized when I got them but the denim shrunk down a lot and gave a very nice fit. The closest thing I could compare to IH would be the Beatle Buster but with a wider bottom hem. The top block feels like a high rise version of my old WH660, which was my all time Favorite.
Here is the fit after a soak and a few wears(pictured with the Stanley Tee in XL and the Sportsman Wool Watch Cap)
I got the 38 because of the slim thigh measure, and glad I did. Here are the pre/post soak measures -
I'm a big fan of the aggressive pocket patch and lighter detail stitching
The denim is very crispy, which is awesome and should yield some awesome vertical fades
Cheers!
