Pure Blue Japan (PBJ)

@501/IH:
Before I'm about to lose my briefly gained capability to post pics, here's my XX-005s, obtained from @Snowy, who was (as we all know him) so very helpful in getting them to me bypassing my bête noir, which is Berlin customs. They have become one of my very favourite jeans, second skin fit while totally comfy and feeling so great. They are fast becoming a crotch repair case, first steps having been taken towards that…
LOVE a good PBJ, they're a great one [emoji108]

I'm humbled and much honoured!
Very many thanks. -
I saw these PBJ X015 in person when @dylantbmayes 's brother visited us recently. He picked them up only a year ago and has pretty much trashed them. The X015 is a cigarette slim fit using the 14 oz indigo denim (X013/x005)

Hey @EastWest, surprisingly not!
My brother is a photographer based in Paris but travels Europe as part of his job.

I am looking for a pair of slubby denim that meets the following criteria..
-
Medium rise, waist size 30 with 12.5 inches of room in the thighs
-
Preferably black denim with zip fly
-
Poly cotton stitching would be nice as well.
Any jeans by PBJ or Oni that meet these criteria?

Picked up my first pair of PBJs, the XX-18-013. Ordered the size 40, and I have to send them back. Even pre-soak, my thighs just weren't having it.
Kind of bummed, this denim is beautiful. -
Window-shopping around for my next pair of jeans since I've retired my 634s' (21 oz) and my 666s' (18 oz) are already in the phase of needing repairs twice a year. Just like shoes, jeans seem to get the most comfy when they start to fall apart :(.
Anyway, looking for something just like the 666s but with a smaller waist (36ish) and if possible with a bit smaller hem width. A bit less rear rise would be welcome too. As a cyclist thighs need to be around 12,5 when stretched out so can't go full slim. The PBJ XX013 seems to be quite close to what I'm looking for in a raw 36" waist, does anybody have some info in comparison to the 666s? The slubbiness and character is quite attractive too and from what I've gathered the 14oz is quite stretchy. Could consider the 18 oz ones too, but have to do some more research on them before making up my mind.

@Jii The x013 denim is stretchy so the waist will easily go back to raw. As you say the rise is lower. Compared with the 666 you'd have a similar thigh fit then a taper at the knee to a narrower leg opening.
PBJ denim is fairly consistent and shrinks and stretches in a similar fashion. Early days for the 18 oz to be absolutely sure of that but the 24 oz collab we did did stretch back out in the waist and shrank almost the full 2" in length. -
I'm very interested in grabbing a pair of PBJs. I find myself gravitating towards slubby / neppy denim after getting my Samurais.
I love the look of the xx007 deep indigo so far. Does anyone know if their 24oz version has similar slub characteristics?
What's the slubbiest they offer?
I don't think I said variations of "slub" enough in this post. Slub you later, slubs!

The slubbiest denim I have ever seen must be the18 oz denim they released this year

Just copped xx-013 in 18oz. Pics were too convincing..I'll post some thoughts after holidays and once I receive them.

Anyone know if this new 18oz. will be released in any looser cuts. I can't make that one at R&H work, but the denim looks great.

I'd be so excited if they released it in the 003 cut. The 013 was too slim for me. Slimmer than the 666 cut by far.

I have a pair of the 24-007. They're not anywhere near slubby. If you want slubby, definitely go for one of their normal offerings!

@den213:
Good choice, Miiks!
Sized up and I still hope that I can fit into them after holidays..
