IHSH-20 Heavy Western Flannel

Be sure that I will do a comparison and review. I even might have my brand new red 72 to compare it with. I tried on Jordan's a few years ago and was pretty impressed by it, to put it mildly.
And yes, if I should feel I need to part, I will consider you @thomasnunnally . (But don't count on that to happen).

thickest = super heavies; IHSH-11

Seconded! The 11 is the "thickest" however surprisingly soft. I always found the 20 to feel the most stiff and more armorlike. The newer ones strike me as a sort of hybrid of those qualities.

I find my 32 to feel much thicker and softer than my 54 and 107 was. The 11 is still my number one want and not far behind is any color of the 20.

Thanks again to @browniemcghee for giving me the opportunity to get this pristine SH20. I was curious to do a comparison with my beloved 72, here's a short review:
1.) Fit: The Sh 20 has a much longer body. As it is unwashed and the 72 has been heavily washed it might shrink a bit more, making it perfect. At the moment it's a tad long for my liking. The Arms on the 72 are also longer, which I like.
2.) Fabric: The SH 20 has a brighter red, seems to have been brushed more (the checks look like stripes on the inside) and feels a tiny bit heavier than the 72. Also softer, I attribute that to the brushing and the fact that the 72 has been worn and washed a lot. The 20s checks are also a bit broader than on the 72.
3.) Details: The old snaps feel different, hard to describe, but certainly a nice variation from the well known permex snaps. The chest pockets are more square-shaped.
All in all it's great to have that classic in my hands and I wouldn't have thought there's so much variation / difference.

Haha, thanks. It helps if the right person takes pictures. BTW, in the Samurai thread are pictures where I wear the 72 for reference.

Too long??? You are drunk? Could be your best fitting flannel my friend.

Here’s another necrobump, with another crappy pic of a recently acquired grail:Cookie monster. The shirt, the myth, the legend. Im not sure what it is, but there’s a different feel to the extra-heavy and ultra-heavy flannels of old. Denser, softer. Luxurious. Also, the extra body-length is welcome for me. Thanks to Clint_D!
