IHJ-38 - Diamond Quilted Primaloft Riders Jacket
-
@Qinhan any thoughts on the jacket? (I'm impatiently waiting for mine to arrive)
It's very light in terms of weight, so great for travelling. Thermal properties are also excellent. I started getting very hot when taking the above photos and removed the jacket immediately after. I'll be back in the Northern hemisphere winter next month so will definitely be taking this with me. I'm sure you will like it.
I'm sure it's practical but I wish the collar on this wasn't so high, looks like Dracula to me.
I had to laugh at this. Maybe this isn't for everyone but I really like the popped collar. I guess you could always fold it down if you wanted.

Nice to hear the comment on traveling with the 38. I really like my FW Deck jacket but trying to travel with it was a pain.
I think this is a keeper. Quick pic straight out of the blue bag.

Yes, just in time for the winter weather.
So far I am very impressed the jacket. The multiple pockets are great, the lining on the inside of the collar is nice and soft and it will be able to pack down very well for travel. It fits over my 87 and Buco Vest so that is a real plus.
I had the IHJ-08 and I was not a fan of the hood or the fact that it did not have draw cords at the waist (the jacket was great otherwise). The 38 is an improvement in both these areas IMO. The collar is on the high side but I think it looks good and will definitely help keep the wind of my neck. Being able to cinch the waist will be key to keeping any cold wind from getting in the bottom of the jacket.

Excellent points. I also own the 08, which I really like, but the way it allowed cool air to come in below the waist was a design flaw, imho. You're also right about the collar on the 38. I don't know what sort of material the lining is but it's very comfortable.

Tested the jacket in the snow and freezing rain today and the verdict is a definite two thumbs up.

This is quietly taking over my entire outerwear wardrobe as my go to beast….

This is an absolutely amazing piece of outerwear. For the price point an absolute fucking bargain considering the performance of the fabric! I have worn mine a heck of a lot.

yeah, $500 for a Primaloft jacket is unbeatably good. I had this on my list to snag, but my wife reminded me that we have only had 5 days this entire year under 50 degrees F.
Guess my "year of collecting jackets" idea has been smashed…

I wore mine today. It is very warm and water resistant and is not bulky at all. I don't mind the collar especially when the wind kicks up.
