Go Blacks
but if they lose, Australia is a great team and the only one that deserves to win the RWC -
The All Blacks did it, and quite convincingly in the final. Congrats!

F**@&#g rugby. Hope NZ go on a massive losing streak from hereon …

Maynard, the Aussies are the greatest in League Rugby and watching the NRL is spectacular. Just a suggestion soi you dont get frustrated so often when watching the AB's tear a new one into 97% of their opponents

Sad to hear that Jonah Lomu died. Didnt realise that he was only 40!

RIP Jonah, one of the greatest I can remember.
Back to the League, well done England on beating NZ at one form of the egg-shaped ball game at last and bringing home the Baskerville Shield for the series victory. It's just a shame that the game I attended in London was the one they lost and generally a little dire.

The 6 Nations aka the 'Northern Hemisphere' ½ World Cup is now underway. I only saw the France v Italy match on Saturday (France poor, Italy improved and unlucky) and had to miss the other 2 but by all accounts they were only slightly spiced up versions of the typical fayre usually served up on these occasions. Did anyone else watch them? What are people's opinions after a disappointing World Cup for the 6 Nations teams?

England managed to not lose so I was happy (which was probably tainted by the fact that Quins lost after full time. All Ben Botica had to do was kick it into touch. Instead, he kicked it straight to Saints who scored a bloody try!)!
Pleased they won. Looked on better form than in the WC but still room for improvement!
Other than that didnt get to watch them sadly!

I saw that on the ITV highlights, he couldn't have realised the 80 minutes was up, otherwise he could have just thrown it off the pitch behind the posts, it was a good try by Saints though. I can't complain as my local team, Sarries are doing OK(!) and had a slightly fortunate win at Exeter at the weekend. Quins are looking much better this season but just need a little more consistency. What do you think of Conor O'Shea leaving in the summer?
-
Oh yes, the GRAND SLAM!
Well done England.

Indeed! Couldn't help feeling for Lancaster a bit. He obviously had the vision to include a large number of the right ingredients, but ultimately couldn't bring it together for the WC.
Plus apologies, thought I had responded to your previous post.
Re Connor O'Shea, sad to see him go as he has done a lot for Quins and the academy, but we have thought that it has been on the cards for a while. Heard that he may be going to London Irish, which would make sense.
Quins put in a spectacularly awful performance at the weekend. Pointless kicking aplenty and rubbish passing (lost count of how many times they dropped the ball). Issues which were compounded by the fact that Worcester were awarded a try, even though their player stepped out of play and was flagged by the linesman. One of the few times that TMO was justified but the ref didn't even bother to check (despite being booed solidly for five minutes). Unbelievable!

Did anyone watch the first round of the 6 Nations? Slow start for England but an ugly win is better than no win. Also, I never thought I'd say this, but well done Scotland!
-
Agreed. Be interested to see how they progress over time under Connor O'Shea.
Scotland were the standout performance of the weekend imo. England were pretty crap on the whole until the subs came on!

Season will begin shortly here in NZ… looking forward to the Lions Tour.
Have you guys heard of the book Legacy: What the All Blacks Can Teach Us About the Business of Life. 15 Lessons In Leadership written by James Kerr?
It's got some interesting insights into the All Blacks culture, things like sweeping the sheds after games... you'd be hard pressed to find any tier 1 teams doing that... although I saw the Australian team picking up rubbish not long ago so they've obviously read the book.
How is England going under Eddie Jones?
-
Well done Scotland and Ireland. On my way to Twickers now, don't mess this one up England!
-
Have fun @Maynard Friedman - I used to manage occasional corporate hospitality at Twickers and saw some great matches, but not for many years… will be watching from comfort of sofa
