IHM-10 - N1 Deck Jacket - 2015 Edition
-
So the zipper on the N-1 is a beast, so I thought it might need some wax. I just applied a light coat of Renaissance wax and now it moves like butter. See the attached photo for the exact wax. btw if it's good enough for her Majesty… It should be good enough for Iron Heart.

^ This is true, the zip on the Queen's N-1 works like a dream apparently.

Or use a safety pin at the end of your draw string.

Hello folks!
By any chance does anyone have a size 40 IHM-10 in khaki for sale? Message me here or e-mail joe.polissky@gmail.com
Thanks!

After lusting after a deck jacket since 2010, I finally pulled the trigger on an XXL Khaki. Luckily it looks like I still have a few pretty cold mornings to get some use out of it this year!

Won't regret it @Appfaff, it's such a fantastic jacket. I've been wearing mine pretty solidly since receiving my blue package from UPS!

Thanks @footandmaff ! I'm sure I will be in a similar boat, although our weather is trying to sneak up to the mid 70s already! Luckily, I think I have 2-3 days at the end of the week where it will be pretty cold in the AM.

Out of curiosity, what weight/size paracord did people use for the drawstring?

Good deal! Thanks!

My Deck jacket arrived today and it's awesome! I threw it over a Tshirt and immediately thought I should have grabbed one size smaller - however, once I put it over an UHF I knew I went with the right option.
The sleeves are definitely long, but the storm cuff sewn a few inches inside keep the sleeve in places, especially when worn over a LS shirt.
Detail Shots that I thought made the jacket cool -
Hidden storm cuffs:
Heavy gauge stitching and snap on the alpaca lined hand warmer pockets:
The color of the lining is really a nice touch - a mix between the black alpaca from a few years ago and the beige lining used on most repros:
The Fit:
Opened over an UHF and tshirt:
Zipped up over an UHF:
Overall very happy with it and glad to finally have a deck jacket!
Cheers,
Adam

Looks like a really great fit Adam, Congrats @Appfaff !
Fully endorse your sizing decision (Same as mine): with this type of jackets at least, I'd always choose utility over fashion. The N-1 is the single most functional jacket in my wardrobe and being able to layer is a top requirement for me[emoji1303][emoji1303]
Unless the opening is already snug on you, putting in a drawstring dramatically increases the warning potential
I found (it forms a seal that keeps the warmth from escaping)With that, you won't need any other winter jacket unless you go really 'arctic' [emoji4]
Last comment from me: if you like it enough and want a snugger T-shirt only fit, you can always buy another one later on (I'm frequently toying with this idea) but for now at least I think you got your priorities straight re sizing [emoji4] [emoji1303][emoji869]
Wear it in good health!

Thanks for the kind words gents! Wearing it today and you can definitely appreciate the warmth yet wearability!
Just need to find some paracord that I think would look good with the khaki color!
