East Coast meetup and elsewhere

Thanks @Madame Buttonfly , the party was good, it's just hard to get going today, and then getting on a plane for Houston. I'm really going to try to meet up with you guys in Phila. & NJ. somewhere along the way.
-
Forgive me for not being on this thread for a long time…
So anyone down to meet up one weekend in the future? I am 2 hours above Philadelphia, not too far from the Poconos.
-
Actually, Giles and Paula are going to be in Philadelphia area on 4/27 to 5/2. I am currently working in Philadelphia, looking for a suitable venue for an Iron Heart meet up on 4/30 and or 5/1. Stay tuned.

Maybe Michael at Norman Porter would be interested. Nice large work space. There is Rembrandts or Monks. Of course a hundred other places depending. In Ardmore, Tired Hands, perhaps upstairs at the original. Giles and Paula, I live 50 miles west in Chester Springs, about a 50 minute drive to Center City. You are welcome to stay, big house/property, lots of room and privacy. Or if anyone is coming from afar, let me know.

That's really kind, thank you. @Madame Buttonfly has already sorted accommodation out somewhere in central Philly. We would love to see you, so must make that happen….
-
Hell, only 2 hours away, on a weekend….maybe setup a lunch or dinner meetup over some good food and quality drafts? If there is time...

We'll be arriving in Philly by lunchtime on Saturday 30th April and leaving on Monday 2nd May, so 2 x lunchtime and 2 x evening opportunities for drinks and eats! (My poor waistline and liver are already groaning…)
Once our trusty venue scout, @ROman has given us his feedback, along with the other recommendations (thank you @apba1166 for your very kind offer and for the meeting place suggestions) we'll firm up a plan!
We're both looking forward to this trip enormously

@madamebuttonfly @giles consider Jake, Laura and I in. Can't wait to see you guys again. It's been way to long[emoji24]
-
@madmonday you better get your old ass to Philly!

-
Yay! It has been too long @derivative666 and how wonderful that we'll get to see Laura and Jake!
-
Hmmm, need to get the little one and wife out for this one….let me know when and where this is going to happen! I should be having 1 year pictures with the little man on the morning of April 30th, but free otherwise. It happens to be my birthday weekend!

My bad not saying where I'm traveling to, currently I'm in New Braunfels, TX. which is pretty nice. Hotel is situated on the Guadalupe River, which is a great setting. I guess I should have been clued in by the towns name, but there are a few German eateries here. Ate at the Water Hafbrau tonight which was good. I fly out on Wednesday.

Garland, TX. 4/10- 4/19.

The Gristmill is only about ten minutes away in Gruene (pronounced "green"), and has decent food and a great view of the Comal River off the back patio. If you like live music, it's also right by the Gruene Hall, billed as "Texas' Oldest Dance Hall".
If you like beer and breweries, you could take a tour of The New Braunfels Brewing Company, which is right downtown. They aren't one of those cookie cutter craft breweries that seem to have proliferated in the last few years. Not all of their attempts succeed, but I like that they experiment, and sometimes the results are excellent.

Great suggestion @Chris . I got off of work early, went to Gruene, walked around, went to some winery's, stopped by the Gruene Hall, they were having a poetry reading while I was there, so I went for drinks and dinner in the Gristmill. Again, thanks, great place, I prefer to stay away from chain restaurants
