It is no secret that we pride ourselves on the quality of our brands and their products that we stock.
Whilst we have no intention of resting on our laurels and are always open to exploring new avenues, it takes something pretty special to makes its way into our stable. It must be of superior quality. It must have style. It should have a common direction and synchronicity with us, our store and the other brands. It should belong. Above all, it must be something we want ourselves!A brand that we feel meets all these requirements and more is Effector eyewear and we are therefore proud to present them to you following their introduction to Rivet & Hide.
Established in 2005, Effector is a Tokyo based eyewear maker, specialising in hand made, top quality sunglasses, using materials such as Acetate and Titanium. Well known for their involvement in collaborations (Lewis Leathers, Rolling Stone, Real McCoys, Neighbourhood) with some of the best of the underground style industry names, their core range is what sets them apart from other eyewear brands.
Taking their inspiration from the ‘Beatnik’, Rock n Roll and aviator styles from across the 50’s and 60’s, before bringing them effortlessly up to date with modern twists and construction, the variations demonstrate the owners’ passion and enthusiasm for this period and its sartorial identity. These timeless frames would be as in keeping for a walk in the park as they would be at the Hidden Garden Party Festival or indeed Greenwich Village of the 60’s or a certain night in the Cavern Club, Liverpool, 1962.
We have carefully selected our favourite styles from this collection, and have included some plain glass options for those in need of adding prescription lenses.

The Iron Heart Herringbone Check Flannels (IHSH-137) use a custom woven 10 oz year round fabric and available in a soft mustard yellow/blue and red/blue colourways. The shirts have little if any shrinkage due to their one wash process and feature IH logo's permex snap buttons.
Heavy enough to fight off an evening chill, light enough to wear in the sun. The herringbone weave gives the fabric a real depth of texture.

Mixing it up a bit here with a shot of the new Iron Heart IHSH-139 yellow Ombre flannel taken outside our neighhbour Lewis Leathers. The flannel is a summery 6 oz in weight with an ombre check pattern. It comes in the western cut with black IH logo'd permex snaps and felled seams using orange bobbin thread.

Two new denim shirts from Pure Blue Japan arrived with the Komon collection. The "knub" selvedge denim is a textured lightweight 5 oz fabric ideal for the warmer months and come in both western and work shirt iterations. Rope-dyed indigo with an uneven face, they promise to age nicely with wear and washing. Like the "Komon" shirts they have been rinsed once so shrinkage is minimal. They feature the "shoai" indigo plant leave emblem on the lower side seam.

The denim has a substantial even hefty feel to it but caters for those who want to wear Iron Heart jeans but prefer this mid-weight fabric.

3sixteen offers us 3 shirts for summer. A lighter weight crosscut flannel and the Mock Twist Short Sleeve Work Shirt in two colourways. These are our favourite summer shirts from Andrew and Johan to date.
The Blue Check Crosscut flannel uses a soft and textured Japanese plaid fabric and features enamel coated buttons designed to chip with wear. The slim fitting shirt has a chainstitch run-off, the signature crosscut inverted back yoke and angled chest pocket flaps.
The Mock Twist Short Sleeve Work Shirts come in a muted grey or blue. The 100% cotton shirts have a linen-like feel to them due to their soft handle. They feature white corozo buttons, selvedge placket and gusset detail, button-down collar and newly designed button closure on the single chest pocket.

We have just received the x017 slim tapered and x018 slim straight jeans from Pure Blue Japan. The denim has a rope-dyed indigo warp and the weft has been dyed cobalt blue. The fabric is characteristically slubby. The deep blue tone on the face of the denim is achieved by the cobalt blue dyed weft. The tonal stitching makes this a super smart jean when new but worn hard the fades come through with high contrast.

We have added the stunning 8" Engineer to our growing collection of Viberg boots and not before time.
Built on the 2005 last, this vintage inspired take on the classic motorcycle boot uses Horween black chromexcel leather featuring a full stitchdown construction, cat's paw heel, Vibram sole and natural mid-sole.

We are constantly impressed with how Hiut Denim communicates its story. The mission to bring specialist manufacturing back to their small corner of Wales resonates with many and with that they introduce new people to the joys of raw selvedge denim.
We now have the SkinR fit in the 14 oz Kuroki selvedge. It is super slim all the way from thigh to hem. Probably the slimmest jeans in the store.

From Saturday 30th April until Monday 2nd May we shall hold a pop-up store at the Revolution Show at The Old Observer Building in Hastings on the south coast of England. Over 40 custom motorbikes will be on display plus wall to wall artwork and photography. On Monday 2nd tens of thousands of bikers descend on Hastings for the May Day Run. Revolution is organized by Robin Johnson, a talented wood and metal craftsman who built our our Windmill Street store back in 2014.

Ranger Jacket - Indigo Selvedge Canvas
The Ranger Jacket in ISC (Indigo Selvedge Canvas) is launched for spring 2016. It has been custom woven to RGT’s specifications and solely for RGT. Taking its inspiration from the classic Baracuta G9, this is the definition of smart casual. Made in downtown LA from a 11 oz Japanese selvedge fabric, this jacket features: handwarmer side pockets and inside pocket, Brass YKK MIJ zip, horn cuff buttons and has a gusseted shoulder construction.
SK 12.5 oz Tinted Weft Jeans
Of course there is denim… In this case the SK tinted weft. The ideal denim for warmer weather this dials in at 12.5 oz and is loomed at the famed Nihon Menpu mill in Okayama, Japan. The SK is a super-slim, mid rise fit, generous but not loose in the top block narrowing through & below the knee and finishing with a narrow hem. Complete with all the details RGT denim is known for – lasso stitch on the rear pockets, hidden pen pocket in rear pocket, cotton twill pocket bags and fly lining, natural leather patch with hand branded hawk feather motif – these are perfect for those who enjoy a smart, trim silhouette.
Officer Trousers - Olive
For those situations where your denim just isn’t appropriate or when you just fancy switching your Jeans game up, there are the Officer Trousers. Slim with a taper, these 8 oz twill classic 5 pocket chinos come in olive green and feature details such as: single needle continuous stitch waistband, slash front pockets, belt loops sewn into the waistband, silk screen printed pocket bags and to top the whole thing off, a solid white ‘selvedge’ line.
Blue Bird Coach's Jacket
For something a little different and classically ‘stateside’ there is RGT’s take on the Coach's Jacket. Constructed from water repellent 10 oz canvas with banded cuffs and deep handwarmer pockets, this jacket is as functional as it is stylish.
Natural Indigo SS Work Shirt
Just in time for the UK it seems is a short sleeve work shirt. The fabric is a 6 oz combination of hemp and cotton, which has been hank-dyed using natural indigo. This combination gives a real depth of colour even though the shade is light and a crunchy feel reminiscent of linen. Incorporating triple needle chain stitch seams with run offs and with a placket cut on selvedge, this is a great fitting shirt that will only improve with wear.
Supply Jacket - 15 oz Stealth Black
We would not consider our collection complete without including the jacket for which RGT is quite rightly renowned. The Supply Jacket, using a 15 oz black selvedge denim once again from Nihon Menpu, is a modern interpretation of the classic denim jacket. The placket and interior pocket are all cut from selvedge and the seams are chainstitched. The outside has both hand warmer pockets and a chest pocket which are welted, waist cinch tabs and cross feather branded matte black buttons. The finish and lines on this jacket are precise and clean and the fit spot on. It’s no wonder that this jacket has a fiercely loyal and every growing following.

The 3012 have a very distinct cut, generous top block and thighs (hence the purchase) and a very pronounced taper below the knees. Not my usual preference but I needed the thigh room and was not finding it in any other cut/brand. Should be an interesting journey in these….

After a 2 year gap the Pure Blue Japan X020 Pop Up Cobalt Blue jeans have been restocked. These were hugely popular when they first launched in 2014.
They come in the slim tapered fit. The weft is first dyed cobalt blue just like the x017 and x018 (If you are unfamiliar with this denim see post on previous page) After the cobalt blue dyeing process the weft is then rope-dyed indigo. Hence the pop up cobalt blue which comes through the indigo as the denim fades.
The jeans have tonal stitching apart from the cobalt blue accent stitch on the hip and chain stitched hem. It makes them pretty dressy to start with but you can beat them up and get some pretty high contrast fades.

Whatever the time of year we are always happy to receive a new Flat Head heavy flannel. Here in the UK they work particularly well on summer evenings worn open with a T shirt. The HNW-64w has an intricate pattern woven on a vintage shuttle loom. It is brushed on the inside so is ultra soft and comfortable to wear. It comes with mother of pearl snap closures.

The latest heavyweight printed THC T shirt landed with the flannel. The Flying Dagger has a black body with muted gold print. The T shirts have triple stitched collars. We say it every time; they are indestructible. This is a T shirt you can wash and wear for 10 years or more and it will still keep its shape.

The Iron Heart Ultra Heavy Flannel is now available in the classic blue/black Buffalo check colourway.
The flannel has a richness and depth of colour that really delighted us when we opened the box. The super soft Aspero cotton responds extremely well to the dyeing processes back in Okayama.

3sixteen today releases its leather jacket collaboration with fellow New York based outerwear company Schott NYC. The understated and urban design sensibilities of 3sixteen coupled with Schott's extensive heritage and expertise in leather has yielded a clean minimalist double rider jacket.
The jacket is made of premium naked cowhide, a leather with a slight sheen and supple hand that will age beautifully. Unlike traditional finished leather that has a rigid
