One of the reasons I took up leather the first place was to make a Knife Roll for my day job. It's been a couple of years since my first attempt at a knife roll, and I'm taking another stab at it (terrible pun completely intended). It's not finished yet, but I thought I'd share a progress pic just for fun.
It's pretty much an entire side of Horween English Tan Dublin in 6/7 oz weight (heavy freakin' duty), and all of the straps are 11/12 oz Hermann Oak Bridle in London Tan. The copper bar is for support of the carrying handle, and so far, the whole thing is held together with 81 hand-hammered solid copper rivets.
It still needs closure straps and hardware, a shoulder strap, and a whole lot of burnishing.

Damn, dude, that's gonna weigh twenty pounds when it's fully loaded. Should be bulletproof, too.

Yeah, because it looks complete shit at the moment…..
I didn't want to say that, because I'm a polite guy. I'm glad you're not similarly burdened.

Stunning.

You were right about that leather, Zach. A lot of character in there. And the work is beautiful, too.

Thanks Chris! That leather is incredible. It has medium temper which makes it suitable for so many different things.
Stunning.
Thanks Gav!
