Birdwell Beach Britches

You'll be very happy with your purchase G. My father and all my uncles wore them too. To this day any other trunk just feels weird.
I recently custom ordered a competition jacket. Very excited for that.

Older pair on the left. Newer camo pair on the right.
The old fabric they used when I was a kid was the best but long gone now.
I used to have a great old pair of frog skin camo as well but they got lost on a road trip years ago.
-
Got the camo one from Papa Nui and I like!!! Maybe a size bigger would be better, but he made me a good deal
-
I personally like the 311. It's somewhere between a classic short trunk and a more modern long trunk. Above the knee without being too short.
-
311 is nice! Good colors too!

I have a pair of Birdwells - 311 in Kelly Green. Got onto them after the Papa was raving about them and they're great.

Damn, tempting stuff. Can I rely on the waist sizes? I.e. is a 36 really 36"?

My 32" is TTS, thats why I need a 33" because they dont stretch like denim
-
^ Good to know, I'm also a W36 in jeans, but I would guess I'd need a 37 or 38 in these to account for the lack of stretch. I'd never heard of them before this thread, but as summer's approaching I'm in need of some new shorts and these look perfect….only downside is the damn customs charge to get them into the UK [emoji21]

There are a few surf Shops in France selling them. Look them up via the retailers page and Google. That's where I would order too.

Just let me know, my B-Day is in 17 Days

Ok, will do
-
Ok, lost some weight in the last weeks (being poor rules sometimes) so the 32" is pretty spot on!!!
-
And 32 is your Jeans size as well, right? What model number is the short?
-
Yes.
I think its the 311… -
their sizing has changed as of late. so if you go on ebay looking at vintage or used pairs keep that in mind. it used to be that you would need to order up 2" from your normal waist size. I was normally a true 32 so i would have to order a 34. not sure why they changed it since they'd been doing it that way for decades but now you can just order your true waist size. it's alot easier.
