IH-634-UHR - Ultra Heavy - Straight Cut Jean
-
Just loving my 634UHRs! They've become so soft recently, I don't want to take them off. I've worn them for (office) work most weekdays since May 2015. I didn't soak them first, but they've had quite a few washing machine washes (30C or cold, inside out and 1400 rpm spin), been worn in the bath and scrubbed once, and brushed a few times.
Wicked color @Jeansman !

3months?!?!? Appreciation would be an understatement. What the hell have you been doing these three months? Clearly you haven't been sleeping. Or sitting down.

Those look fantastic! Excellent work!

Looks great!

They need to go in for a crotch repair pretty soon, I'm thinking of sending them into Indigo Proof but I'm very weary of doing a machine wash. My washing machine is a cheap top loader with the huge agitator that seems to destroy clothes and I really don't want to find a huge faded in crease in these when I pull them out of the machine.

Got a rubbermade tub?
-
Would a bathtub be a decent replacement? Hahaha.
The one soak I did was I guess more of a handwash, I laid them out in the tub, submerged them in cold water with a bit of tide and shook them back and forth for a good while, did a quick rinse, and let them sit submerged for a bit. Then just rinsed the shit out of them for a good half hour.
They seem to insist on a machine wash though.
I've attached photos of the tear, it is through the warp and the weft is exposed, it is about 1.5 - 2" long.

Just put them in the washing machine, inside out, on the gentle cycle, with woolite dark or bronners soap, let them soak for a bit and then let them agitate for a few minutes or so. Pull them out before the spin cycle, give them a good rinse, and let them hang dry. This is pretty much my wash routine.

Looks great as well.

Those look good @mahlon321
I finally soaked my 2nd pair of these, sized up a bit from my previous pair. Here they are post-soak/post-hem to 35".

great fit. ^^ and it is amazing

Question on sizing of the UHRs - I'm a 38 in 634S, should I stick with a 38, or move up a size?
-
Depends what size your 634S actually were when new/are now…
And take into account that the UHR will shrink and stretch as per the product description.
I guess I should have measured before I sent them in for a repair. Right now I'm debating between picking up a pair of the 634UHRs now and then getting a pair of the 634OD Blacks in November, or just waiting till November for the ODs. I guess I'm not sure if the UHRs are different enough from the standard 634s to warrant me getting them.
It isn't that the UHRs are cool, I'm just not sure if I'm developed enough in my taste to warrant it. And if I do pick up a pair I'd rather the waist didn't stretch to much.
Decisions … decisions.
Thanks for the help Giles, I do appreciate it.
