I completely dispense with any insole when I have this issue, once the boots have stretched, I reintroduce the insole….
Been wearing the boots without an insole the past couple of weeks and it's working nicely. I'll be testing them with the insole in shortly. Question though, will prolonged usage without the insole have any negative effect on the boot?

A bootmaker I know says that insoles actually shorten the lifespan of boots- the synthetic materials don't breathe as well, so the sweat stays in the leather longer. From a practical standpoint, I don't know if it makes a whole lot of difference, though.

Oh. I was going off my pair from 2014. Never mind, then.

They look awesome [emoji106]
Thank you, sir. I'm very pleased. Sacrificed some of the more refined options (such as the domain leather, 705 sole) for an all season boot. I'm looking forward to seeing how they tackle the snow and ice.
I think that is the way to go with Wescos. They will never look sleek, so might as well make them tough as nails!

They'll be your best friend in all weather.
Cool, thanks. Do you use anything on the visible edge of the midsoles? I notice the midsoles on my Viberg Smokejumpers suck up a lot of moisture in the wet/snowy season, and when they dry a residue (which I believe to be road salt) remains.

Just bought a pair of used boots.
