Mildblend - Chicago
-
Self Edge have not had exclusivity for the USA for a couple of years. We believe that a broader representation of Iron Heart in USA, is good for all concerned. One of our most successful territories is Germany where we have a number of retailers. Having multiple (within reason, of course) locations, validates the brand in the eyes of many customers…
@Giles who are the other retailers in the US that carry IH other than SE and Mildblend?
-
We are super excited to be part of IH family. Please visit our website and our brick and mortar shop in Chicago for the latest IH offerings.

Can't wait to see what they carry. Selfishly I'm stoked to have a retailer within driving distance

@Anesthetist it takes you five hours? Outta my way, lol, or I'll be the guy in the silver Mazda3 blasting past you on the right.

They love the 777 cut.
Clearly. I hope they plan on stocking more cuts in the future, as well as shirts. But I'm stoked to see IH in the Midwest regardless.

I was there ten days ago and that first visit got Mildblend a very satisfied customer. I bought a pair of SA 103 and N&F Elephant 5. The N&F was a perfect fit, and is my first heavy denim. They did a perfect job hemming my two purchases, plus a third one IH 634S 14 which I had mail ordered from SE.
Nice store and great service. Look forward to dropping in next time I'm in Chicago. -
Went in today for my first time and had a VERY unique experience.
At first I was overwhelmed by the great selection of Iron Heart denim and other goods.
Then from the back room I overhear the owner of the store verbally abusing her new puppy whom she brought to the store. She was swearing and yelling things like “I should put a cigarette out on your eye rows!” And “What’s wrong with you?! Are you retarded?! I knew I should have bought a f***ing Dalmatian! Stupid dog.”
I told the other clerks she’s crazy and walked out. Never going back.
I just joined the forums but unfortunately this has to be my first post.

Just back from Chicago, wish I'd known!

Strange and suspicious. I’m in Chicago and have been there dozens of times. It sounds out of character for anyone I’ve encountered there.

Not sure of their store experience, but their online customer service is unprofessional and pathetic for a stockist that carries big brands like Iron Heart and Stevenson Overall. After the purchase, it's a struggle and an endless wait just to get a response from them.
I purchased an XHS 25oz from their website on 24th. They sent me a 21oz UHR in error. I contacted them about it, but only after the second contact they responded and sent a return shipping label. I dropped off the jeans at Fedex but now I must wait for the jeans to be delivered to them so that they can verify I haven't sent them a brick before they ship me the 25oz that I purchased.
Really small-minded of them if they think that a person purchasing an expensive 25oz Iron Heart will scam them out of a pair. Sucks for me that I have to wait for a full delivery-and-return to complete before they send me the right pair. All because of their oversight. More frustrating is their response that needs at least a few petitions.

@denimator I am not a fan of airing grievances on a forum that the other party is not active on…This is an unfair way to deal with grievances especially if we are only presented with one side of the story.
These issues are best solved between the buyer and the seller privately.
I'm tempted to delete this post, but will wait on others to chime in before doing so or taking any further actions.

I would love to resolve it with them if they responded to emails, or picked up the phone, or if the mailbox on their phone was not full.
In simple words, I am just frustrated and wanted to vent. The experience was quite different from any of the premium stockists in the country I have dealt with in the past.
I am new to this forum - maybe I have broken a rule in frenzy. Feel free to delete it.
