Recommend me a heavyweight denim 20oz PLUS

@Filthy25ozJunkie:
didn't @DevonReviewer say that the prices of IH denim are out of his price range right now and he's looking for an alternative? Unless I misunderstood him. That's the only reason I recommended the Oni's otherwise I would say grab a pair of the 21oz IH.
he said he couldn't justify it.
Heavy denim on the cheap end, I'd recommend these. http://www.sage.gs/shop/bottoms/everbeast-25oz-unsanforized-deep-indigo/
I always see them on Heddles and probably would get a pair if I wasn't such an Iron Heart fanboy. They are like $150 and they have some pretty decent fades and look pretty well-made.
Wow, never heard of Sage before. Interesting.
@DevonReviewer if I misunderstood your initial post then I have to say that hands down a pair IH heavy denim is the way to go. I thought you were asking for cheaper alternatives to IH. I'm not sure what the definition of heavy is to you but for me I would say it's 18oz and up. With that being said I would recommend the 21oz flagship fabric for a good starter pair but the 19oz left hand twill is probably my favorite right now. Keep in mind I do not own the UHR or 25oz fabrics so I can't speak on those but I'm sure there are great like the other guys have said. Either way you can't go wrong with a pair of IH jeans no matter what fabric you pick.

@Mustafa911 I am elated that you are enjoying your new jeans so much. :))))
Thanks , one small issue . My wife is little overwhelmed with the new condition of 25oz jeans . She never seen or felt 25oz denim before . The jeans make little sound when I move on bed . I bet couple of weeks of use will eliminate the noise and bring the softness .

hahaha yeah they sound like a freight train clacking or something. Tell her 2 months and they get more quiet.

I don't know if I'm man enough to handle the 25oz lol. I own a pair of 26oz from another brand and although I know the fabric isn't IH quality I just had to give up on them. Plus they don't fit me anymore.

You owe it to yourself to get a pair of Iron Heart 25 oz! Those Pronto collaborations are looking quite fab. I can't wait to get.a pair. The heavy gauge stitching looks awesome on those (and on the inside if they are anything like the other 25ozs) and the fabric is sure to be amazing. The regular 25 oz is so heavy and soft much like the flagship 21 is, just with one more weft yarn per stitch. These are likely to be the most epic Iron Hearts there has been so far. @manufc10

depending on what your size is, the aforementioned Pronto have a generous top block and get slim past the knee to a smaller leg opening. According to the measurements the fit is somewhere between the 777 and the 666. It's like a 666 with a higher rise and a smaller leg opening. As far as I can tell by the measurements posted.

Mmm tough decision another 25oz & pronto or 18oz.
Considering 18 for all season wear .Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

@Filthy25ozJunkie:
Hi Chris! Dude get a pair of 777 XHS 25oz. You won't be disappointed. They completely destroy any other brand or denim. They literally are a must own experience.
No offense, but N&F and the rest are pretty "meh" compared to Iron Heart 25oz. The 777 cut is the slimmest cut next to the 555 available in the 25oz denim. They fade great and will give your legs a workout breaking them in. Don't wash them for as long as possible and you're guaranteed great fades and a comfy pair of jeans that feels like rough sex on your legs. I'm not kidding and using hyperbole They are the very best. If your size isn't available fill out the form and save your money. It is worth it!

hold out to justify and bite the proverbial bullet when you can… You'll thank Mike in the morning...

I've worn the 25 oz in the jungle in Colombia during the summer and it wasn't too bad. They were really broken in though. Some of the best fades I've ever seen come from dudes in Thailand that wear their jeans all year long in the heat and humidity. But it will definitely give you "bat wings".

Wow that cut is damn near perfect for me in a 34! I'm not a huge fan of the arcuate though but that can always be removed with a seam ripper.
Thanks for the input @Filthy25ozJunkie !

@manufc10 you're welcome! I don't know, I think the arc is my favorite ever. And as fast as these are likely to fade (like the other IH 2x indigo) it will tone down after a bit. Did you see how it is 2 threads, white and blue?

I didn't intend to completely derail this thread. Sorry OP.
Nice, inexpensive heavy denim: http://www.sage.gs/shop/bottoms/everbeast-25oz-unsanforized-deep-indigo/

I did see that actually and I agree, it does look very cool close up. When looked at from a distance though it appears to be only the light blue, at least to my eyes.

I think it only looks so stark because the denim is so dark. Just my opinion though.

Agreed, and it may be something I could live with once I have it in hand. Definitely an awesome looking fabric though

I'll just chime in on the N&F/Unbranded vs. IH discussions happening. I own N&F Elephant 4s and IH 666XHS. Both have a different but very good fit. However, in terms of quality there is no comparison. The N&F break in was brutal compared to the IH so for that reason alone I always recommend spending more for the IH, especially if you're new to the heavyweight genre. I have also found the resilience to be higher on the IH. If cost is the issue, unless you have no jeans to wear currently, I would hold off on purchasing new jeans until you have saved enough to buy the IH.
-
Thanks all!
Fantastic response, thank you for sharing your thoughts!
I am hearing the IH message loud and clear… living in the UK and within driving distance of Gosport, I am leaning towards a pilgrimage up and trying on everything heavy that they have in my size and taking some expert advice on fit.
I think the exchange rate has pushed IH to the limit of what I might be comfortable spending....but at some point I think I must purchase IH and my denim journey will not be complete until I do... so I guess anything else is false economy
Having said that the Sage Everbeast did catch my eye on Instagram... are these tried and tested denim or something new?

@DevonReviewer I've seen at least 3 Fade or the Days/Fade Fridays on heddles.com with that brand. I can't speak to the quality but they do seem well made. Just curious, what size are you? I might have an old pair of iron hearts I can give you that still have plenty of life in them.
