Recommend me a heavyweight denim 20oz PLUS

I think it only looks so stark because the denim is so dark. Just my opinion though.

Agreed, and it may be something I could live with once I have it in hand. Definitely an awesome looking fabric though

I'll just chime in on the N&F/Unbranded vs. IH discussions happening. I own N&F Elephant 4s and IH 666XHS. Both have a different but very good fit. However, in terms of quality there is no comparison. The N&F break in was brutal compared to the IH so for that reason alone I always recommend spending more for the IH, especially if you're new to the heavyweight genre. I have also found the resilience to be higher on the IH. If cost is the issue, unless you have no jeans to wear currently, I would hold off on purchasing new jeans until you have saved enough to buy the IH.

Thanks all!
Fantastic response, thank you for sharing your thoughts!
I am hearing the IH message loud and clear… living in the UK and within driving distance of Gosport, I am leaning towards a pilgrimage up and trying on everything heavy that they have in my size and taking some expert advice on fit.
I think the exchange rate has pushed IH to the limit of what I might be comfortable spending....but at some point I think I must purchase IH and my denim journey will not be complete until I do... so I guess anything else is false economy
Having said that the Sage Everbeast did catch my eye on Instagram... are these tried and tested denim or something new?

@DevonReviewer I've seen at least 3 Fade or the Days/Fade Fridays on heddles.com with that brand. I can't speak to the quality but they do seem well made. Just curious, what size are you? I might have an old pair of iron hearts I can give you that still have plenty of life in them.

That's really kind of you, I am a 32 (I have contemplated going 31 but with heavyweight it may not be the time to experiment).. whilst I know tag size is a imperfect science, hiut, unbranded and levi's have worked at 32 tag for me.

I have a size 33 that I blew the button off if you want them. I replaced the button with a copper penny. They look pretty cool. They are IHxB01-25oz XHS. You can pay shipping.
Go here and see if the measurements are close to what you need in size 33 https://www.ironheart.co.uk/extinct/ihxb01-25.html
Sizing up is not too much of a big deal because this is technically a half size up from 32
I can super hot soak them for you and give you some waist measurements. -
Here's the penny. These were world famous because Giles shared the pic on Facebook and Instagram xD

I blew the button off my Beatle Busters. (Giles was right! I shouldn't have sized down!) So I made a sew-on button out an old copper penny, and affixed it with some Kevlar. It turned out really great. I made the holes in the penny using a center punch, and hammered out the penny making it concave using a ball-pin hammer as a die and a 9 pound hammer. It took 2 blows over a piece of soft pine to make the right shape. I might like this better than the regular button. -

A slim taper would definitely be of interest, I have not gone for taper yet, for some reason but suspect it may be the optimal fit.
Are you in the UK or US? If I do take them on and they do not work for me I would happily gift them on through the forum.

That's cool. Please give me 12 hours and I will hot soak/ wash them and fan dry them over night and measure them for you. It takes a while to get these dry enough to measure. I am getting tattooed tomorrow. But hopefully I can make to to the post office and get them weighed to give you a price on shipping cost. Please pm me your address for the shipping quote, too.

Cool, I'm pretty stoked these are going to get a new home. The good news for you is they are really nicely broken in. The denim has softened up nicely. They aren't baby kitten soft yet. But better than them being brand new.
In the worsh. The water is scalding hot. Too hot to submerge my hands in. So they should shrink a little more.

Thanks Mike… also I see some Thunder Soap! I have some ready for a 6 month wash for my Hiuts too!

Yeah I'm trying to use it up. I prefer this stuff called Fels Naptha. See my thread in the resource center forum. It's a lot cheaper and it seems to get the jeans cleaner and doesn't leave a residue or heavy smell.

Looking forward to trying it out… been using woolite dark at 40'c in the bath tub so far.

The Thunder Soap has got a weird smell. It kind of smells like natural rubber pencil erasers. With like a sassafras fragrance too. The box sure is cool though. I used Google translator to completely translate the entire box one time because I found it to be so fascinating.

Would be interested in that translation if you still have it!

If you have a smart phone just use Google translator and there's a camera part where you take pictures and it auto translates.
