IH-526-sbg - 21oz Super Black Fades to Grey Type III Jacket
-
@denimeric, thanks! It's one hell of a jacket.. I've been beating the shit out of it for months now. Wore it everyday this summer at the Good Art foundry. Worth it. Still can't get all the silver flakes out but I really shouldn't complain. TBH I'm going to buy another one of these because 1) this is by far my favorite denim jacket and 2) I feel like I really messed up the cuffs (a bunch of water and silver changed the look.)
-
@GoBruins seeing your jacket makes me lust after a vest in the SBG fabric!
-
@denimeric, Thanks, Keep wearing it It gets better every month!
@Allisnoise, That would be awesome! Personally I love anything in the SBG fabric

I'm looking to get this jacket in an xxl and have a 526 17oz natural indigo type III in a size xxl. My concern is the arm length. My 526 arms hang over my hand to the first knuckles. I usually cuff them back but ideally wouldn't have to. Anyone got this issue with this 526 sbg?

Measure your jacket and compare with site measurements. IH jackets are generally longish in the sleeves as H makes them with bikers in mind. Long sleeves means no chilly wrists when riding. Also the world appears to be divided into gorillas and t-rex's. You may want to work out which one you are (I'm a t-rex and cuff most everything).

I think I just bought me an xxxl of this beautiful jacket. Want it as a jacket with layering abilities. The XXL would have worked, but wanted a little extra. Can't wait till Thurs or Friday when it comes

I think the sbg will have a similar fit. I don't have an issue with any other brand when it comes to arm length, that said, very few if any come close to the feel and quality of IH. I can wear a hoodie under my current 526 and my biker leather over it so will just bite the bullet and go for the same size.

I know this has been sanforised, but anyone get any shrinkage if desired? I believe mine will be here tomorrow but I'm case it it skigtly too large, wanted hope in a super hot bath and hot dry slight shrinkage
-
I tried shrinking the arms only in the hottest bath possible a couple of times, with no noticeable success. Now I just turn the cuffs up when buttoned and that solved that problem.
It's a great jacket and I'm seeing slight evo now, so might give it a wash to see if that adds to it.
-
My experience is, that you Need a machine wash (Agitation) at hot temperatures to achieve shrinkage. But of course that means shrinkage everywhere, not just in the arms. And might also cause some weird washing lines, as I think SBG denim is quite sensitive to that.
-
Thanks guys. The only parts that I don't like the fit is h arms as they are a bit too wide in diameter. I'll just have to return em, go to someone who can wear this properly
Beautiful trucker though! -
Can @Giles or anyone for this matter tell me if the diameter if the sleeves change much between sizes? I could easily make he xxl work, maybe the xl…but only if the sleeves diameter shrink with each size.

This one doesn't get the love it deserves. The denim is solid, but seems to get fades relatively quickly, despite not much wear. The long sleeves put me off wearing it for quite a while, but simply turning them up doesn't look too bad and for me puts it back into the rotation.
If I didn't have this, I'd have gone for the 526Lod, but the colours seem too close for me to justify the od. Once I start to see some obvious fades in my 101J, I plan to give the sbg some hammer, as I'm sure it could end up pretty impressive given some hard use.
