The Strike Gold

465$ is a lot of money…for 80 bucks less you can get Samurai 24/27oz...I'm not sure if SG is really THAT better
-
ive gotta say uve got a darker dye so u can get higher contrast if thats ur thing, also the feel is really individual
-
you already handled the new SG denim?
-
dye process is the same (as all strike golds which i say is darker than samurai), and strike golds as a whole have a more unusual feel. If u want to see some videos check out the daytona bros videos on utube, they are wearing the sg-ex series denim and the video of the Klax-On store (owns strike gold) has the sg-1103ex, and based on what a friend who gets the jist of japanese, thats what they were talking about. Seny doesnt have the 1103ex but tomas who works there is set on a pair of strike golds for his next indigo jeans and theyll(meaning the sg1103-ex) probably be them i believe.

was at se today, the new strike golds are def not for me, its a total straight leg style of jean. i must admit though, they are a work of beauty. on another note though since i realized these were not for me and i was really set on getting something today so i went with the new imperials
-
itll take some gettin used to in terms of the cut, but i actually am quite excited for em
-
With the new super heavy 1103EX i'm thinking about having two jeans in my rotation which i haven't done in over 6 years. I love the cut and the denim.

27 OZ for fucks sake. I love how the translator comes up with crazy stuff like
THE STRIKEGOLD design to design an image of a crane to dig gold from the naming of hashish.
Not to split hairs, but the 27 oz. weight is per square meter. Denim weight is usually measured per square yard. On this model the weight is 22.74 oz. per square yard, according to the Rakuten pages.
This is really interesting - I understood you bought fabric by length - the "running-yard". The area that you would have bought was then dependant on the width of the bolt of that particular fabric.
Common widths are 36", 45", 54" and 60" (although there are others) - so you would then only get a square yard if you bought a 3 foot length from a 36" wide fabric (or some other nefarious combination if you want to do the math!)
Also, although it is referred to as weight - the measurement is really one of density

If you guys aren't on sufu, here is my fit on the 1103EX's:
Definitely and strongly considering a taper… I just can't stand how big it is compared to my other jeans, and it is just annoying me. So I have to personally decided if I want to get them tapered. I am going to email Gordon and kiya, and see what the rates are as far as if they even taper...
-
also, BIG and SE don't taper.. just hem and repairs
-
Sorry, lax, but it was pretty clear that theses SG are among the loosest/widest jeans out there. I dunno if I talked to you about that (wondering, why you went for SG, when you complained about them Flat Heads being too wide).
That said, I think that they look great and I wouldn't risk ruining them. You got other, tighter fits - why not keep a different cut the way it is?
-
yea, nobody will be able to do a good taper on those and hold the integrity of the jeans (did u try em on before hand), sell em and buy an sg1105

to all, and you no I didn't try them on, I had no time to go to NY and go to SENY. I know how most jeans fit, and I am not THAT specific on how they have to fit. The waist is fine and all, and I never knew if BiG or SE tapers or not, so won't bother then.

You did talk to me, but the F350's did grow on me. And I do love my Flat Heads (but am selling cause of the contest), so I wanted a similar fit, and when I compared measurements they were pretty much the same. But I did size up to a 30 instead of a 29. Anyways, If I am going to get them tapered it is not so they will be skinny, I want them to remain loose, but right now I am just not used to how loose they are. Also, I would probably only do from the knee down, I may also just get the inseam hemmed again cause that could also be causing me to have unwanted bagginess (right way to say that?).
I was just going to get them tapered to be slightly cause right now they are more so baggy, not straight leg. And I only sized up one cause I am worried that the 29 might have not fit me in 2 years… Otherwise, I would have gone with a 29, or even a 28.

Just got 1103ex.. Love the fit, sized down one on this (regular 36 on SR).. A bit tight in waist, hope it will stretch to comfortable fit, heavy but its not as stiff as SR and the quality is a bit different from IH. Anyway time will tell when i use this in harsh condition onboard ship.

The brown weft ones are almost out if anybody is interested..
