IHSH-160 - Black or Olive Super-Tough Cotton Military Work Shirt
-
Does this fabric feel itchy? I suppose not but had to ask
-
What's the fabric weight on the IHSH-160? - looking for a shirt I can wear all year round (in the UK) - well ok I might be forced into a polo shirt at about 26C!
-
I'd guess about 6oz, but weight is only part of the story, breathability is also part of the equation and this one don't breathe…
ok - thanks Giles

Tried on this tough cookie today. It is nearly airtight…don't let small children play with it. Breathability ratings do not apply to this beauty. Fabric felt very smooth and soft. I think this picture captures the olive tone quite accurately.
Haven't seen pictures of it in the thread so here it goes.
The metal buttons are something else. Tried to get a picture but I couldn't get my Iphone to avoid gross overexposure of them against the olive background of the shirt. The buttons came up white every time and masked the nice aluminum color and texture.
I went TTS on it and am happy with the fit.

Looks really good! Hope to see more metal buttons in the future. I could see distressing them with an OD type process, bringing out their full character

@motojobobo I've always liked the look of this shirt and I was just in this thread the other day, wondering if anyone had pics, but no luck. Thanks for fixing the picture deficit. It really does look very good on you. Perfect sizing, and great colour.

This shirt has been a tempting mistress since it came out. Style is not very much "me," but the concept and design is so intriguing…

This one got left in storage when I moved. Gonna make up for lost time this summer. Underrated build in an interesting material. Mine’s been washed once, still pretty crunchy, but think it’ll feel like an old favorite before too long.

@sabergirl Thanks. It’s way stiff at the outset and doesn’t really drape. I didn’t love wearing it the first time I put it on to be honest, and felt like it moved awkwardly. However with a few wears and a wash that’s gone away, and I really do love subtle details that set it apart from the other non-western offerings. It lacks the side gusset, so the hem line is more fluid. The contrasting twill backing on the placket peaks out periodically. The 4-hole metal buttons are a nice touch and work well (although one or two of them started to come off, simple fix). The sleeves are pleated, which is common on dress shirts but not IH work shirts. Not so subtle are the pockets, which are perfectly proportioned. I love this style, but it’s almost always the case that the pockets on these shirts are far too big or positioned too low (for my taste).
It’s an offbeat makeup for IH but they absolutely nailed all the details in my humble opinion. Probably destined for the outlet but I’m used to my favorite styles ending up there at this point. Can’t wait to pair this with my camo N1 when the weather gets cold again.
