IHSH-180 - Ultra Heavy Flannel Classic Check Western Shirt
-
Dang. Went to buy and my size is already gone!
-
Count me in for the green and/or brown, both look brilliant!
@Giles @Alex I know this has been raised multiple times over the years, but given the popularity and availability of this shirt, would you reconsider your position on deposit/pre-orders? I know I'd be happy to pay a significant deposit to secure something I wanted -
I am just surprised that one large is hanging around.

Just curious if you guys routinely do analysis of quantities ordered/sold in the different sizes, and compare them to sizes that you discount to move?
I'm sure it is a bit of guesswork in ordering based upon the style, but it may help in nailing down quantities of the different sizes.
Inventory management is always a pain in the …...

Pretty sure they do. As Giles said yesterday, in short, he never knows for sure what will sell. When ordering for an entire season the total number if shirts is massive, despite there being only 30-40 of each item. If you guess wrong you end up with dead weight on the shelves that has to be shifted via the outlet.

No.
Here's why.
We ask for pre-orders, we get the following orders:
S - 3
M - 6
L - 8
XL - 8
XXL - 4We make those numbers and the sizing is a size too small.
We can thus fulfil:
XS - 3
S - 6
M - 8
L - 8
XL - 4
XXL - 0So to avoid pissing people off (and I can tell you now, you would be a lot more pissed off with us if you had pre-ordered and then we could not fulfil), we have to over order, to ensure we can fulfil if the sizing comes out too large or too small.
So we get left with stock that we do not want, which means our cost base goes up and puts pressure on our prices across the board.
Anyone who says they can do pre-orders with clothing and not either piss customers off or increase their stock levels is talking through their arse.

We analyse and refine all the time. But because we do not actually know what we would have sold had we had infinite numbers of each size, then the data is incomplete

Don't despair guys. Iron Heart has some great retailers which can help you out too. Just saying.

Another thing.
We asked for forms to be completed for the Kanreki shirt. I know that filling a form is does not imply real demand like actually paying a deposit, but we had 130 unique customer completed forms. That gave us a pretty good view of what the bell curve for shirts looked like. And because I did not want to piss anyone off, we have 135.
But we only shifted 60 of them. I know the sizing was an issue, so that takes us back to the problem that I tried to articulate in my response to @tmg . Bottom line is I have 72 shirts on the shelf that I don't really want taking up space and using working capital….

If a XL or XXL comes back/returned today or tomorrow let me know please

Again, these are up at Rivet and Hide. Their customer service is second only to IHUK. Looks like XL is available.
