IHSH-177 - 18oz Selvedge Denim CPO Shirt - Indigo
-
Ordered mine today and upgraded the snaps as I was feeling like I needed to treat myself. This was the shirt that got me hooked on IH and by the time I wanted to order one they were all gone in my size.
-
I wish I would have asked yinz to take your pretty pictures of my shirt pimped with the black snaps before you shipped it. It is going to be a long next few days and I am driving to Massachusetts today for a job so who knows when I will get home to it.
-
Seriously looking. Ya’ll had to bring up the snap option/s. Bastids!!!
-
The shirt is an absolute MONSTER. I can't believe how heavy it is. Love the black snaps a lot. Glad I pimped this Ho out.
-
Yeah I can't wait to wear it. I am currently soaking only the sleeves in boiling hot water to shrink the sleeve openings a bit.
-
Probably not gonna do much. But every little bit helps.

The antique axe handle belonged to my grandmother and was used for laundry. Now used to manipulate my clothes in scalding hot water.
-
It's chilly enough today for an IH thermal and this shirt. I am in heaven.
@Jett129 soaking the sleeves shortened them up about an inch. Didn't do shit to make the sleeve openings smaller.

Got this shirt yesterday and it is totally awesome, I really love it. This is my first denim shirt, I always wanted one, but this is the first one (within IH-SH that I'am aware of) where the measurements suite me. I am only 5.7ft/1.73m and the most offerings are for me to long in the sleeves and body.
@Filthy25ozJunkie or others which have already done this, I still would like to fine tune the measurements a bit and I also thought, if I should only hot soak the sleeves, or the body up to the point where the p2p is starting. Since I never done such partial hot soaks, I was afraid, that the soaked part of the shirt bleeds out more then the rest, and get a slightly different color. So, you or others didn't experienced something I just described above? There is nothing to worry about?
It would be greatly appreciated, If somebody would share their experience!
After the shirt settles down a bit a will post pics.
Tonight I am leaving for the Dolomites and are coming back on Monday afternoon, I might not have the chance to answer until then, but thanks in advance!

I would certainly be concerned that a partial hot soak on denim would change the quality of the indigo and cotton in such a way that there might be notable differences in the colour or hand. But I don't know for certain.
It's worth remembering that denim shrinks proportionally so there will always be more length to be lost along the arms and down the back and front, than across the shoulders or chest. And the shoulders and chest are more likely to stretch back as they are under more pressure. So a full soak might do the job you want. That being said these are once washed so you won't get much shrinkage anyway…
-
@marlin The shirt is washed so there's no bleed. And I've seen people partially soak jeans all the time. I think maybe it was Twin I saw do it first with the leg openings of the jeans.
But it is kind of a moot point because like I was saying the hot soaks really didn't do shit.
Otherwise there is no discernible difference between the color of what I soaked and what wasn't. The body of the shirt and the sleeves look the same.

I’d have to get this with the brass buttons. My next shirt is this or the 189 and whichever one I cop is getting brassed.
-
@Filthy25ozJunkie, thanks for posting your practical experience!
-
Perfect fit @marlin
Great combo too!
I think you've encouraged me to soak my large–get the 'new' denim look out and maybe soften her up a bit.Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk
