Does anyone else not *get* chainstitch runoff on shirts?
-
I like em. I knot em and leave em. But I definitely hear where you're coming from too!

I think on the flannies they look cool. But the one colour dressier shirts I think it makes them look a little unclean or less smart on that bottom edge.

Surely the feature of a chain stitch run off on a shirt like the IHSH-102 is the same as a selvedge seam on a quality pair of jeans. It's presence alludes to; the level of quality and skill as well as the specialist machinery involved in realising the product.

I think it is a cool detail, but I usually cut it off.

@thewickett I am usually so ocd around loose cotton threads that I even amaze myself by not only leaving them but loving the fact that they just hang out !!!
-
I always cut them off, they remind me of scruffy rats tails.

I only became an IH customer in 2015, and after those two years I'm still cutting off the chainstitch runoff on all my tops, all seven of them so far.
I guess I mostly do it because it would look odd around my community and I would need to answer questions about those 'dangling threads'. However, as I get more familiarized with the intricacies and quality of the IH builds, I feel I'm slowly getting closer to the point where an eventual next shirt will keep its runoff. -
I cut all of mine off. Just don't like them.

The blonde says it reminds her of tampon strings. Great.

I like them and keep them on.
if anyone asks what they are just call them 'stringleberries.'

Same. Just cut some off a newly purchase shirt yesterday, in fact. My dislike of them overcomes even my powerful laziness.
-
I leave them. On everything. Always. #prostringleberries

Another reason I keep them on is should I choose to sell a shirt the buyer might prefer those little details. cutting them off might effect the value. I have never had anyone ask me what a chainstitch runoff is anyway so people don't seem to notice
