Red Wing Shoes

Does anyone have experience with the sizing of the Chukka? In particular the 3143?
I just found a slightly used pair online for a steal, but I‘m not sure about the size. Do they run smaller or bigger?
They are UK 7, usually I wear 7.5 to 8 on my trainers.Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk

I wear a full size smaller in red wing then in any of my sneakers as they tend to run big. I think they would be a good size for you. (But don’t hold me to that and get angry if they don’t fit [emoji51])

Man, I can’t wait for mine to arrive.

@David_pll The leather is so stiff. It’s unlike my 877’s or 8143’s which where so buttery. I can’t wait to see how the black starts to wears down to the brown underneath.
New vs an old roughout

I really wish they made 11.5 in the 9874’s, I haven’t tried them on yet but in other boots that run big I’m a solid 11.5, which leads me to believe the 11’s will be too small and the 12’s too big. Guess I’ll find out whenever I go try a pair on.

They have them in 11.5

They look even better in your photos, I’ve had my 875s for 4 years now so they are super soft. Kind of excited/worried about breaking these in now!

Oh thanks @David_pll , I was assuming they didn't make them in 11.5 since I saw a few stores were out of them.
Going to try a pair tomorrow, the store near me only has 11 and 12 so we'll see how it pans out. -
Good luck @Broark
Had to have mine ordered direct from RW as I was a bit slow off the mark, but hats off to standard & strange for the outstanding customer service.

I didn't think I'd be interested in RWs again, but the Irish Setter 9874 looks really good. However it's har to tell what it will look like broken in. The inner colour is really bright, contrast could be pretty high.

Red wing was the proverbial gateway drug that got me into all the footwear I love today. Over the years I've had Iron Rangers, 875s, 877s, Ice Cutters, etc…all of which I eventually got rid of.
My first pair was the 1907 in Copper Rough and Tough and while I am in agreement with @Max Power in that I'm not really interested in much that RW is doing these days, the 1907 is still one I find interesting enough to keep around (although the outsole blows and lost all traction in about half a season)….

Arrived today, very happy with them.

So I shot S&S an email to see if they have anymore of the 9874's coming and they do, so I'll probably grab a pair when they get them in.
I've never worn Red Wing boots before, but I'm guessing if I'm a comfortable 11.5 in both the Alden Trubalance and Viberg 2045 lasts I should be okay ordering these in 11.5 as well? -

Thanks @steelworker , unfortunately I've yet to own a pair of Wesco boots but it'll happen eventually I'm sure.
After speaking with Neil from S&S he thinks I should go with a 12 as opposed to the 11.5, as my other comfortable lasts have more toe room compared to the 9874.
