@jvicente86:
I must've missed something. Everything alright @neph93
I went over on the ice a while ago. Suspected rupture of the cruciate and medial ligaments. MR in 14 days to confirm.
@Seul suggested I should have dropped the baby I was carrying to save myself, as babies bounce. Obviously not the case with Belgian babies as his noggin must have taken a serious whack at some point in his infancy [emoji1]
Whacks. Plural

Friggin fades, man.

Missed the preorder but scored a pair of 34" 888 NT during Iron Heart's amazing Xmas sale! Here are the raw fit pics along with my tried and true soaking process that controls the twist (1 hour warm soak). The folding pattern seems to keep the seams lined up while the thread and water does it's thing. I did this with my pair of last season's IH DWC and had no leg twist while maximizing the shrink. (It has worked with my other other unsanforized brands as well). Measured the inseam and they shrunk 2.5". Perfect! Waiting for them to dry a little more before the first wear. Can't wait after seeing all your evo pics!

May as well throw this pic up in here too.

I had to do one more hot soak for two hours to get these guys down to where I needed. Very comfy fit to these jeans. I found a nubbin in the weave on the left knee right where a lot of fade will happen. I don't know if it is a flaw that will fail or just some extra slub. Compared to last DWC UHR , these were easier to manipulate and shrank a lot more.

@Herman great fit and some bad ass Vans. Also love the belt, what kind is it?
-
I got one of those nubbins too. No issues with failing yet.

@manufc10 Thanks man, I found the belt at a saddle craftsman booth in a local fair. Thick full grain leather so I bought three colors from him. Unfortunately I don’t have any contact info. Vans have been my shoe of choice since high school, however I don’t skate as much as I used to… Those are my house shoes.
Sounds like the nubbins are pretty common so I’ll just chalk it up as a beauty mark. -
You can try and pull it through with one of these….

Did another hot soak on these 140F. I like the fit even more now. It shrink a bit more in the waist, rise, thigh and inseam. Which I is exactly what I wanted. I love these jeans

My pair stretched a bit too much so I decided to give it a second really hot wash @ 60° C. That's the second soak/wash overall and these are unhemmed.
tag 38
raw measurements
after 2x ~ 5h soaks (hottest tap water, no agitation) + 1x 40° C & 1x 60° C wash
The top block fits really great again and I hope it won't stretch much. I hope for more shrinkage in length after further washes. All in all I'm pretty happy with the results as it was the very first time I washed denim @ 60° C and I was expecting the worst. Everything went fine and even the leather patch didn't suffer at all.
I just saw I forgot to measure the knee, Sorry!

Thanks @Dion
Mine will need a shrinking wash too. It's good to see how a 38 waist did in the wash.

They’re 100% cotton so 60C won’t spoil the fabric. The only real danger with washing these is white lines caused by abrasion when creased. It’s agitation that creates the potential for that problem (spin in the machine for example) and that can happen whatever the temp.
The best method for avoiding these abrasion lines is to thoroughly soak the garment before washing. I use a shower head and just spray inside and out. Once the garment is wet the creases formed in the machine are less rigid and friction is redused.
The other risk is the patch getting dried and cracked st high water temps. If you’re particular about this (I’m not) then you can oil it before washing.
