Iron Heart IH-634S - World Tour 2010 - 2013
-
You buy one, you get married in it. I'll refund you the purchase price…..............
Along these lines, that would make a great contest: doing crazy shit in your Iron Hearts - of course requiring video or at least photos to prove the participation of your IH's.
Thinking along the lines of
- basejumping, skydiving
- performing or receiving a major surgical procedure
- reenacting the training montage from Rocky IV
- running from cops
(Edit - removed embedded Rocky training video - how do you link to a youtube video without embedding the video in the post?)

So for my next update, I wanted to introduce everyone to where I work. I think I may have mentioned I am a grad student / researcher at the moment working towards my PhD in Mechanical Engineering.
"Dressed" up for a day at work:
I work at the Drexel Plasma Institute, which recently relocated to Camden New Jersey at the Camden Waterfront Technology Center:
We are on the 5th floor which gives us some very nice views of both Philadelphia and Camden. This is the view from my lab:
Ben Franklin Bridge:
Camden:
In general, I work on Plasma for environmental applications and green chemistry. More specifically, I have been working on projects for hydrogen production and CO2 emission reduction for refineries. I actually work with some very dangerous gases (hydrogen sulfide - rotten egg smell) so safety is important, and we have special fume hoods designed for this:
A closer view of the most important equipment:
and for analysis:
And my plasma discharge:
and an action shot:
believe it or not that column of plasma is approximately 3000 K, and we have insulated it well enough with air flow that I can put my fingers on the quartz tube around it.
And, after a hard day working with smelly stuff, I always enjoy:

Camden! Ah, those pics bring back memories. I spent 3 years on the other side of the RCA building. I love the Ben Franklin bridge; used to run across it a couple of times a week.
