IH-634SR - 21/23oz 5 Year Anniversary Straight Cut
-
Comparing the weight of my 21oz 634s - 1.02kg, against my 634SR at 1.33kg, my calculations make the SR's denim weight just over 26oz and added to that the 634s are 1.5" longer in the leg than the SR's!!
yeah, but you have not told us the weight of the 634s after your math…Simon, please do and than we can see what's what..hehe
I would guess Simon is calculating that because the 634s and their 21 oz denim weigh 1.02kg, and a similarly sized pair of 634sr weight 1.33 kg (about 30% heavier), and both pair have rivets and pockets and buttons and such but those factors are going to equal out for the most part, well then the sr denim must be about 30% heavier, so 21 oz plus another 30% equals… just over 27 oz... or some sort of similar calculation...
My calculation:
634sr denim = heavy enough for me
-
Simon’s calculations are fine and are the method I use to establish the weight of fabrics I do not know the weight of……....It does not matter what the weight of either is (though of course the person doing the math does need to know), what matters is the ratio and that then gets applied to 21….

Spot on jacoavlu, I'm assuming that the 634S are genuine 21oz denim and calculating from that. I know the 634SR is a slightly fuller cut and have taken that in to account with my 26oz guestimation, if the cuts where identical then it would be 27.5oz denim! Photos of cuts and scale readings when I'm at home next, if required.

my SR's at 3 months, 3 soaks, sorry for the crappy cell pic and lighting.
wear on the left knee more than the right because of all the left leg skew, the left knee rubs a lot more with movement
also got some funny fades just below that left pocket opening cause my thick belt rubs there a lot when seated

hey giles do you plan on doing a heavier denim soon or for another anniversary edition? sam's got a 24/27 already. show them up!!
27oz.. hopefully shorts for summer - then its 110% useless. otherwise its just 100% useless..
crap.

You wait for September 11th. If you can work out what is happening on this day 2011, then you may be able to work out what weight we will be releasing. No more clues or hints will be forthcoming…................
EDIT. And as Doug has kindly just pointed out to me, the date is completely coincidental to 9/11.

whatever comes out in September, I pray it will have exactly the same color and texture as the 666, only a ton heavier.
At the same time, one's gotta wonder how the SR's can be topped, because those are the best fucking jeans ever. Period.
