Another well known source -if not the source- for Samurai denim is: http://www.rakuten.ne.jp/gold/2nd/br-sj-r/sj-411-01-r.html. They only speak English via translator software, but ordering has never been a problem.

Yes 2nd has the whole Samurai collection. I prefer Yuichi because it's easier to write with him and he sometimes has nice offers

Can you give me the post soak measurements for your S5000VX as we are the same waist size.
thanks
-
no problem:
after two soaks but it's Lot.10, so a bit smaller than regular S5000VX
waist: 34
front rise: 11
back rise: 14,25
thigh: 12,5
knee: 9,5
leg opening: just little under 9
inseam: 36,5more shrinkage is likely to come with a real wash but the VX also stretches a good amount

Thanks for the measurements. I think the back rise is a little short for me on that model.
after measuring my other pairs of jeans i need at least a 15" back rise.
My flatheads are a 15" back rise and fit perfect.

To people that need measurements for certain models, you can use this website www.blueingreensoho.com
They also carry samurais and much more always updated with newest samurai jeans. -
but they don't offer measurements after shrinking and sometimes I feel BiG's measurements are off, especially in the waist. They give a good hint but I feel safer when seeing more measurements especially from guys who wore them. So that's why I'm always willing to post my measurements

s0500, 4months in, 2nd wash today!
ttc in pic 3 and 4…postwash pics will follow when i have the time too!
stretched them out while still damp and as i already had them off my legs again, i thought another stretch shouldn't be a problem and went for it (i thought the denim was fully unbuttoned!)
-
Feels like ages I did this. But why not when it's possible?!
The obligatory post soak fit. After they fully dried over night. I wore them 2 hours and then took the fit pics.

^ that is a loaded question and it is all a matter of preference. i would say most of the japanese denim brands use high quality cotton spun to their specs and woven how they like. it all comes down to what you like.

"Yes with an if… No with a but..."

i've heard a lot about how samurai pays a lot of attention to aesthetics so i was wondering if you guys could answer this question. does samurai use the highest quality denim out of all the japanese brands?
No, I think all of the high end Japanese denim brands use similar quality denim. The denims just tend to vary in texture, weight, weave tension, etc.
I do think Samurai has the best attention to cosmetic details out of all of the brands out there, but as far as comparing them to other high end Japanese denim brands go, I wouldn't rank them among the best for quality control.

i second that.

but not too surprising. you sized down quite a bit on that pair (in regard it being Lot.10)
