Can anyone help with this issue?
My BR & WG MA-1 has just decided to have a melt down. I took the jacket off my clothing rail and pulled on the pull tab to lower the slider in order to undo the jacket and remove it from the coat hanger before popping it onto my good self and the pull tab came away from the slider, see below;
I have inspected the parts and put them back together however the integrity of the unit has gone so the pull tab immediately comes away from the slider.
Can anyone advise me on where / who my first point of contact should be, when trying to get this issue resolved ?
I will cross post this in Random questions to which you seek an answer. Thanks in advance, Barcley

Panic over, for now at least. I found the missing brass press fit washer that I pressed back into place. However, I don't trust the (square) brass washer in question. I am also a little disappointed at how flimsy the zipper set up is . . . . . Sure IH zippers are more solid than this particulat crown zipper . . .

@den1mhead an old post I know, but how did that zip pull work out?
I'm visiting the showroom in Devon on Friday and aiming to pick up a BR M65 jacket and it has the same 68 era wire zip pull. I wanted an exact repro M65, but couldn't justify paying 'leather jacket money for a Real Mccoys!

@Stuart.T - my quick fix on the 68 era wire zip pull didn't work as the press fit brass plate didn't stay located in place after my attempt to secure it which means that the whole zip pull is back in the state shown in the image below

That's unfortunate you didn't get your zipper issue resolved. I've looked at BR's stuff many times and but never bought. I know your zipper problem may be an outlier but it does make me apprehensive about buying their jackets. Which is a shame because History Preservation has a hook front whipcord deck jacket I really like. Do you own any other items by BR? They do have other products i'd consider buying but don't really have a sense of how wel they're made.

@gaseousclay - the only other BR piece I have other than the watch cap is the Buzz Ricksons 2ND Armoured 1St Pattern Tanker Jacket, see below. I can not fault this jacket. To be honest I can not fault my BR William Gibson MA-1 other than the brass fixing plate that has failed. My next step is to contact Buzz Rickson to see what they can do. However, I wouldn't expect this from IH

@den1mhead thanks for the post mate. I'll show Rob your pick when I'm at the Eastman Leathers showroom on Friday. I reckon as it has a few independent parts it should be fixable. I'll let you know.
I think that BR actually use deadstock hardware on some of their jackets. I haven't found that there's a universal issue with the M 65 on internet forums, and as much as the RMC M 65 looks great, at £645 the extra £200 is a push (and a new pair of jeans!)

Didn't @Dstauffer have issues with a RMC jacket? I seem to recall something along those lines, which is why I haven't tried their brand. Also, I would not expect any defects from a brand as expensive as RMC. Again, maybe it was an isolated incident but for that kinda dough i'd want my purchase to be rock solid, like IH.

With a bit of research I found that Eastman and Buzz Ricksons copyrighted Crown and redeveloped them. @den1mhead The design on A2 is a 1942 wire zip pull, the same as is found on their M 65, which is strange as they are different to the talon type zips featured on original 1965 to 1972 M 65s.
I found lots of guides on zip maintenance…powdered graphite on the zip teeth seems to be the pro's way to go.
Anyway, pics of the M 65 by the weekend...IF I get the right fit

Finally bought an M 65 from BR on my recent visit to Eastman Leathers showroom. Huge thank you to Rob for great service. I love everything about this jacket.

Huge thanks to @Stuart.T for sourcing a replacement Crown zip and zipper stop for my BRxWG MA-1.
Here's what's left of the old set up . . .
. . . and here's the new set up installed and fully functioning
Cheers Stuart and Rob at Eastman Leathers

@den1mhead you are more than welcome…It was hardly a chore! I'm already saving for a return visit
P.s was fitting the stopper pin easy enough?

It was straight forward as its an interference fit so it took some force / effort to drive it home
(Interference fit also known as Press Fit or Friction Fit is a fit between two parts in which the external dimension of one part slightly exceeds the internal dimension of the part into which it has to fit)
