IH-777S-21 - 21oz Selvedge Denim Slim Tapered Jeans - Indigo
-
Received my pair of these last week, also my first Iron Heart Jeans. My only other pair of Selvedge Jeans have been Levi 511 and these are by far the more comfortable from the first wear, even though the heft of the Iron Hearts is on another planet. Looking forward to being clad in these all through the UK Autumn/Winter.

The fits spot on for me. Comparing them to the 511's which are also a lowish rise, I would say I have more room in these. That could be down to the 511's being a much tighter fit to start with and it took a long time for them to stretch out. Ended up wearing them without a belt and they eventually became fairly comfortable.
The 777S-21 were tight but not too tight from the first wear. Now the waist is perfect and the top block is breaking in nicely. The thigh measurement was always my biggest worry and the reason my the 555-01 weren't really an option for me, but that's perfect too.
All in all couldn't be happier.

Yeah, for a long time they were out of stock in the size I wanted so I had plenty of thinking and reading (research) time. Quickly became apparent that 555-01's just weren't for me, which was a shame as I love the look of them on other forum members. Sometimes you just have to admit that you're just not built for some cuts. Plenty of Iron Heart choice though, so something for everyone I think.

I received my pair of IH-77S-21 this morning and it turns out they fit perfect. I could barely button the top button and they feel great once I can actually get them on. Great pair of jeans. Now to send them back to IH in the UK for a proper hem! I've attached a few fit pics and will take a few more once I get the hem service.

They look to be the perfect fit [emoji1476] A bit of discomfort the first wear tends to be a good sign. Now go forth and bear the crap out of them.

Nice @mannyrox!

Tried these on today in Rivet & Hide and surprising they fitted amazingly. Think I have found my next pair.

The measurements look really good on this one. Debating between this or the 777-142’s

hi,
could someone help me to understand:
sometimes I see comments regarding denim, like: 1 year, 5 soak, 1 wash.
what does soak mean in this case?i know that I have to do initial soak for unwashed unsanforized denim to shirk it to my fit and make it softer, which means to put jeans to warm water and then take it back.
why then peopel do it 5 times? and it looks like they are doing it from time to time.
sorry if it is a very stupid question… ::) -
That means that the jeans have been worn regularly for a year, they have been soaked in water 5 times and washed with soap and water 1 time. Does that help ?
-
soak, as in the bathtub/bucket/sink (or whatever) instead of a washing machine. A lot of people soak their denim before wearing, including sanforized, to get some shrink out but also to get the starch out. Soaking and washing prolongs the life of your denim.

If I understand correctly, you're asking why people soak their jeans, rather than wash them. Some people believe that soaking helps remove dirt and grime, without removing indigo. That will cut down on the smell of dirty jeans and help prolong the life of the denim and create high contrast fades. It's like a very, very, very gentle wash, in theory. I don't know if it's effective, and I'm too lazy to try it. I find machine washing to be much less hassle.
